X-Play: Stormrise Review

To be fair, there are a few very interesting ideas going on in Stormrise. Even though the Whip Select mechanic gets in the way most of the time and it makes everything far more cumbersome than it needs to be, X-Play still appreciate the idea behind it, because at least it shows an attempt to push the console RTS genre forward in some way. Also, the node-to-node battle structure ensures consistently engaging battles.

Unfortunately, the poorly told and convoluted story prevent you from feeling any real connection with what's happening on the battlefield. In the end though, the game seems a bit more concerned with its concepts than with providing a fun and polished experience.
