I not agree with OXM review. "Not enough room for exploration", if it is an action game, impressive, with a lot of big enemies, why do you need exploration?

For example, Rambo movie was a bad film because there wasn't exploration? or Kill Bill?

I think is more easy blame this type of games and not others like Halo 3, that is a mediocre FPS and has a lot of 10/10 in a lot of medias.

I really liked the demo.

It looked awesome and some of the moves were very cool (stabbing your blade into the ground and drop kicking your opponent was my favorite).

I HATE quick time events, but the actual gameplay was cool enough to make me endure them.

guess this is one of those titles you should close your browser pointing to a review and play for yourself.

people need to look at this game by it's self and not compare it to other titles.

this game will obviously be attractive to people with certain tastes, so expect the reviews for this game to differ from every reviewer.

no one will let the game stand alone it must be compared to something.
and the internet will compare it to every thing for example (halo3 vs killzone2, gears2 vs resistance 2, god of war vs heavenly sword)

It looks great but has some problems. It linear, and the Quick time button presses do nothing but annoy and interfere with the action rather than compliment it.

Still, it does look nice and the combat itself is also pretty entertaining! You'd expect a mix bunch of reviews. for me, its a 7.5, but I appreciate that others may get more out of it.

you know, heavy rain is going to be based on this qte subject as well, and if it's a longer game then it'll probably have more of this than nb.

qte have become a fad for some reason, i think we should just live with it, cause it does add a bit more interaction than just regular cut scenes.

I think most people would rather just sit back and enjoy the cut scene once, rather than have to endure it over and over again because we didn't press "Y" in half a millisecond.

Since both Heavy Rain and Ninja Blade will be heavily based of the QTE I think they should be classified as a FREE genre game, like Shenmue, Indigo Prophecy, etc.

Ninja Gaiden2 is TWICE the game this POS tries to be. Bad grainy graphics, QT sequences are done all wrong. For instance, instead of tapping buttons in sequence it is a one button press in sequence... so if you miss your buttonyou screw up the sequence, it rewinds and you start your presses all over again. I am very open to games, but the methods this game employs to make it different wind up crippling it or making it inferior to existing games - like Ninja Gaiden. So if you are looking for un upgrade to NG2, or even on par with it... keep moving, nothing to see here.

After I played this game, it made me RUN back to Ninja Gaiden 2. I wanted to slap myself after seeing that someone could've possibly given this a 9/10. It deserves a 7/10 at best. If you have not bought Ninja Gaiden2, buy that instead... it is a much better game with better graphics, better weapons, etc.

i will have to download the demo. the reviews for this remind me of the ones for halo wars, some ok, some outstanding, and some bad.

reason why i like demo's and such because i like to make my own judgement and not base my gaming decisions on other's opinions.

oh and for the record i have enjoyed many 6.5 and 7 rated games this gen. not saying this one is of course just saying.

The only thing I like is the cool looking giant shuriken on his back that has elemental powers. You collect the tiny orbs to upgrade your different sword types(I have 3 so far, single sword, double-swords, giant barbarian type heavy sword) or shuriken, just like NG2. But the graphics are half-azzed and unpolished. For example, even in CG sequence the ninja's helment seems to be graphically separated from his head.

You follow your master in the beginning stages just to have him turn on you, although he idiotically gives you some powerful sword to defeat giant monsters, etc.

This game is graphically and technically inferior to NG2 and most games coming out in this genre. Even the running on the side of the walls is inferior to Prince of Persia... jumping up to higher ground can only be executed on predetermined columns... for example, you cannot jump on a rock and then jump up again to reach higher ground, you must jump from a predetermined area.

To make a long story short, this game sucks, it barely squeezes a 7/10 from me, it can easily be argued a 6 out of 10. I did KINDA like the giant spider fight, but it too was ruined by QT in my opinion.

Disagree all you want, but I am someone who has actually PLAYED this POS(not just a demo), while the rest of you are PRAYING that you are right(based on the demo). YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

BUY NINJA GAIDEN 2 USED, or replay it again AND LEAVE NINJA BLADE ON THE SHELF!! Buy at your own risk, don't get pissed if you disregard and waste your $60!

Maybe I will give it another try when I get home, and TRY to see what some of you morons CLAIM to be good about this game... my opinion so far, game = subpar.

I only played the demo, but in that short span of time I liked what I saw. The fighting is decent and the QTE seequences are well done. The timing window is a bit short, but when successful the resulting action is quite rewarding. I also don't really like the look of your character, but the game seems fun enough that I can ignore it. I bashed this game as a NG clone, but there are enough differences to set it apart.

Hopefully this game and Demon's Souls does well so they can continue to output stylish atmospheric games. Would like to see them grow and wonder how their games will come out with bigger budgets.
