RE5 demo would have cost Capcom $300,000 under PSN’s new fee system
Sony recently announced it would be charging publishers 16 cents per gigabyte of bandwidth for any downloads over PSN. Even with Sony dropping the charges for demos 60 days after release, this would still have cost a company like Capcom almost $300,000 for the release of the Resident Evil 5 demo. As the source in the link put it:
"Capcom’s making us pay $5 for Mercs DLC to cover the "budget" for setting up a few modes and adding no new assets. Who’s going to take a hit like that to their bottom line?"
