Microsoft getting the Community involved in E3 this year; Microsoft's E3 2009 booth is HUGE

While listening to Major Nelson's (Microsoft's own Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hryb) podcast for today, Major Nelson announced some very interesting news.

Major Nelson stated:

"I can't say much but I will say this; part of the Xbox Experience is Xbox Live, and part of Xbox Live is the community. The community will deffinitely play a role in this."

In response to Major Nelson, "e" stated:

"We're gonna try and get the community involved in E3 this year."

Booth size doesn't matter after E3. Game offerings, innovations, exclusives and third party support matters.

Blademask5518d ago

I cant wait to see what they bought! And how NXE users are going to get their own version of HOME. Mark my text :)

NM i can wait, when is e3?

GiantEnemyCrab5518d ago

I agree.. I think that's a first.. prolly a last.

Anyway, this isn't too hard to figure out.

Xbox Primetime has a game 1vs100 and I bet it will go live during E3 and the community will get to play the game vs the E3 attendees and maybe they will show it off during their presentation.

Considering Primetime and 1vs100 were last year E3 announcements pretty lame that they are probably going to use this show to announce it again, but with the extra benefit of "hey it actually works and you can use it now!".

Bragging about booth size tells me that they are going to try and make up for their lack of first party exclusives with flash and bling.. Not buying it this year, I gave last E3 a chance when they announced a bunch of sh*t like Lips, You're In The Movies and Scene-It and chalked it up to development cycles. But if they pull the same thing this year by announcing a bunch of DLC and multiplatform games I am going to be disappointed.

IdleLeeSiuLung5518d ago

I agree. I'm expecting some announcement of some upcoming unannounced games.

Tony P5518d ago

New XBL stuff... I'm not into the service part of 360 that much. Not to the exclusion of games. I'll take some new Live stuff, but as a gamer I expect to hear some new games announced in addition to it.

sonarus5518d ago

Well i think its good that they are trying to get the company involved. It will be interesting to see how each company does E3 this yr now that its going back to the old style

StephanieBBB5518d ago

Does anyone know if E3 this year is going to be broadcast live in HOME?

tordavis5518d ago

Booth size IS important at E3. The bigger the booth, the more quantity of games to show. Both Sony and Microsoft always have the biggest booths and the most games to show.

Don't listen to Morganfail.

DeadlyFire5518d ago

Xbox 720 announcement coming I can see it now.

morganfell5517d ago (Edited 5517d ago )

Most people do not visit E3. More people get their E3 news from the videos they see at various sites such as Gametrailers than actually being at E3.

More people are impacted, and I mean a vastly greater number, by websites than by actually standing in the E3 convention hall.

According to the logic (ha ha) espoused by Tor Davis, more people are affected and pumped up by football that attend the Superbowl than the number of people that watch it on TV and we know that just isn't true.

The number of people you will show a game to that are actually at E3 is infinitesimal compared to the number of people that will be impacted by web and print publications detailing games from E3. Tor Davis is smarting because I have been exposing his fellow MS employee and he doesn't like it. Tough. Don't listen to Tor Davis.

More booth space certainly suggest more stuff to show. However, they can also just repeat the same stuff over and over. I'm going with the former as that makes much more logical sense. We will see...

Montrealien5517d ago (Edited 5517d ago )

The Idea of a trade show is to wow the media and the people attending it so they can talk about what they liked most, or what impressed them to then sell the products that are showcased. If the media is impressed by a booth, or a game, or a product they will talk about it more on the website, or magasin, or blog ect.

The superbowl is a football event that would not attract millions of viewers if it was in an empty stadium with a half time show that involves a plywoodstage and a toothless banjoplayer as a half time show. Just like at E3, if you are in a corner with no lights and a table with a few flyers and a SDtv showing you latest project, people and the media would not talk about it on the web site, or to their friends. Is it so hard to admit that boothsize does have an effect?

No Way5517d ago (Edited 5517d ago )

You're an idiot. You never seem to amaze me.. -.-

Booth size has a huge impact at E3. The bigger the booth, the more games that will be shown. Simple as that. Ever wonder why companies like MicroSoft, Sony, and EA have the biggest booths?

ahahahahahahh look at the droids but why would they have a huge booth if they have no games lol keep dreaming ms have no game.

jaybdemented5518d ago

they got to make room for halo allstars, halo golf, halo -1(thats the back story), the gears and halo cross over( yet to be named but i heard master chief drops to one knee. who in gears will get the ring). i could go on but i'm sure someone else will finish the list.

gamersden5518d ago (Edited 5518d ago )

halo wars = flop
race pro = flop
so4 at 510p= mega flop
ninja blade = flop

how many flops do u have?

on a side note we are playing the best fps ever --KZ2 along with flower

:)

power of flops = x360
x360 has no game for 09 and beyond. all it has are mega flops and multiplat games . when u dont have any game then u revert to retardedness like this

xbollox5518d ago

call Greenbored ASAP: we got our 2010 lineup!

TheMART5518d ago

gamersden aka NASIM

drastic difference in gameplay and graphics

already we had an AAA this year KZ2 and more incoming with Infamous, HR, MAG, Uncharted 2, GT5, GOW3,FF13 versus etc

too bad all x360 has are vapour wire and crap games like Halo wars, race pro, so4,ninja blade etc

everything is over for x360 when PS3 drops to 300$
It is already finished in europe after KZ2's release

TheMART5518d ago

Right Nasim. So when the PS3 drops to 300 bucks, the 360 Premium will go to 149 to 179.

The most expensive console will never have the price advantage as Microsoft can dictate the price even lower.

Sony won't be able to win this gen, unless they instantly cut their price to 199 Euro now, but still then Microsoft could drop to 129 instantly.

It is just impossible to outdo the 360, anyone can see.

Could Xbox Live’s 1 vs. 100 Really Make a Comeback?

It's been a little bit since we last heard about a possible 1 vs. 100 revival on Xbox Series X|S, but Xbox still hasn't done anything to discourage the rumors. If it does come back though, will it actually be able to outlast the original?

Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Hints a Possible Return of The Iconic 1 vs 100 Game

During Fanfest, Spencer said that that they were planning a fan fest trivia, and the entire team was working on the project. However, it didn't turn out the way they wanted. He continued saying we are still planning to do something... "maybe we should even be building our own trivia game like from our past and allow people to play a trivia game more often. Maybe that could happen."

Yes 100%. Loved even the possibility of rewards and playing with friends online is so important during these times , 1vs100 was great.

SmokinAces1275d ago

Sounds cool, definitely like the fun and challenge of a good trivia game.

Had a lot of fun with it, back in the day.
Wouldn't mind seeing it return.

gamer78041353d ago

this 100%!!!! they could put it on gamespass even if that would be what they have to do.

PrinceAli1353d ago

Why.. so it could be ignored..? It'S GOT to be on GWG FIRST then later be put on Gamepass

gamer78041353d ago

I'm just saying if they need to recoup costs, I'd rather it be for gold subscribers of course so more people could enjoy it.

Godmars2901353d ago

What's the difference between GWG and Gamepass? Aren't both on PC?

gamer78041353d ago

@godmars. Games with gold is the free games you get with your gold subscription, gamespass is a separate service where you get access to lots of games and all of the Microsoft owned games

RebelWAC1353d ago

Man, this was that type of quality app that made the 360 shine back in the day. This was crazy fun

crazyCoconuts1353d ago

Oh, that's right...Fall Guys isn't on Xbox... Warming the seat, got it....
