1UP: Red Alert 3 Ultimate Edition Hands-On

Wait, wasn't the PS3 version of Red Alert 3 canceled?

That was the general assumption, since people tend to translate phrases like "suspended development" into "canceled". Even though EA personnel later clarified that the PS3 version shifted back into active development, 1UP hadn't heard much since. That is until, Red Alert 3 producer Greg Kasavin stopped by the other day to finally show off the imminent PS3 version.

But since PS3 allows for keyboard and mouse, how can any publisher and developer be stupid enough to not have that as an option if they feel that compelled to release one.

I played the original Red Alert on the PS1 against my friends on LAN all the time and loved it. I'm gonna be just fine without K & M.

What now, is this 1080p now or not? I would like to know that. All this HD talk, but they don't say if the game runs native 1080 now. Seams the video sequences use the BD storage of some kind. I just got me a nice new PC, too (26" 1080), so either that or PS3 40" 1080. Gotta choose.

I'm gonna be getting this. I loved Civilizations: Revolution on PS3 and these are pretty similar in gameplay I hear. I am really looking forward to this one!

I'm not saying not to get this but just be aware that Civilizations plays by turns, not real-time. Just a difference you should be aware of, it changes the gameplay quite a bit.
