It's been nearly eight years since players were introduced to Pikmin on the GameCube. The unique game cast you in the role of stranded astronaut Captain Olimar. In the story, the unlucky spacefarer is marooned after his spaceship is knocked to bits by an asteroid. The game tasked you with rebuilding Olimar's ship and getting him off of the planet before his life support runs out. Olimar's only chance is to enslave the local plant population and force them to do his bidding, but in a cute way, considering that it was a Nintendo first-party game. The game offered a surprisingly cool and addictive experience that garnered a loyal fan base and a sequel.
Original fans, as well as the several million Wii owners who didn't try the Pikmin series on the GameCube, will soon be able to relive the adventure with the upcoming New Play Control editions of both Pikmin games, due next month on the Wii. GameSpot had the chance to talk to Shigefumi Hino, former project leader of the original Pikmin, about the upcoming games and their predecessors.
Hardcore Gamer - New Play Control Pikmin is coming soon to the Wii U eShop at an attractive price point.
This reminds me how I always wanted GameCube titles to be ported to Virtual Console or for Nintendo to do more HD remasters of them on Wii U or handheld versions on 3DS.
Now that Super Mario Galaxy has made its way to the Wii U eShop, what other games should come to the Wii U Virtual Console? Some are more likely than others.
Super Mario Sunshine!!! I REALLY need it. It's the only 3D Mario I don't own. I used to own it but was dumb to sell a decade back. A HD Remake would be even better!
What i think needs to be on the e shop is ALL the virtual console games that the Wii had.. Turbo graphx, neo geo, genesis, & way more offerings from the retro nintendo consoles..
With the recent re-release of Super Mario Galaxy 2, Punch-Out, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy, we take a look at other Wii games that deserve the same treatment.
They missed one key one ... Resident Evil IV .... best version was on Wii U with the Wiimote.
I'd kill to see Pandora's Tower get a re-release, especially if it comes with a patch to fix the freezing glitch...
They must re-release the first two Pikmim games, although in their GameCube versions, I'm not fan of Wiimotes that much.
Zelda twilight without a doubt needs to come, wiiu needs all the help it can get, this game is much needed in the Eshop.
