ZTGD Review: 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

ZTGD's Professor Chaos writes: In closing I am going to say that this is game does a lot of things right. The co-op is fun, the action is intense and in fact the only negative things about this game are the camera, story, and pop in graphics. If you can get past all of those things underneath you might not find the ultimate 50-Cent experience but you will at the very least find a pretty good action arcade shooter. For those hardcore Fiddy fans though, you will love everything about this one and will spend all your time making sure to unlock every single song the disc holds.

Pros
+ Co-op is fun
+ Shooting is way better than the first

Cons
- Story sucks...bad
- Camera doesn't need to be so close

Wow,higher than expected tbh.

Pennywise5548d ago

lol, you did? I am shocked it is this high.

Montrealien5548d ago (Edited 5548d ago )

Many people that saw the preview builds of this game said it was actually fun. AAA title it would never be however a fun rental with a laughable story? looks like it. And what else would honestly you expect?

Then again you have to know how to appreciate a game for being a game which is something many N4G users can`t do. You know, how you can enjoy Con Air for being a fun movie, yet appreciate Slumdog Millionaire for being a masterpiece.

great review Zero, but I have to ask, is the story so bad that it`s actually funny?

ZeroTolerance5548d ago

Sorry but the review belongs to Professor Chaos so perhaps he can answer your question. I agree the premise of the game is just ridiculous, but I am intrigued that it sounds like a pretty fun game outside of the license.

Montrealien5548d ago (Edited 5548d ago )

cool, should of checked who wrote it. I know I will rent it for a laugh and maybe a few big explosions. Keep up the good work man.:D

Professor Chaos5548d ago

The story is in fact so bad that it is pretty funny.

while i dont agree on the term racism for 50 cent.

It definatly is a slap in the face of the middle east culture.

COME ON ??? fiffty killing everyone becuase his diamond skull was stolen from a gig ?? OUCH

Kushan5548d ago

I absolutely hate 50cent but I'm considering looking into this for a few cheap laughs.
I feel so dirty.

Information Minister5548d ago

I absolutely hate 50cent and I wouldn't consider looking into this game even if mr. fifty himself came down and payed me to do it.

Da One5548d ago

Cause i would, for the money that would then be spent on Killzone 2 and Street Fighter 4

2FootYard5548d ago

The only reason that this game is getting tens is because journalist are now messy and racist.

ZeroTolerance5548d ago

We are the first site to review it (that I am aware of) and it certainly did not get a ten. :)

Rice5548d ago

7.5 = 10

On the contrary, the developers did a great job with the game imho. I expected a 6 or lower but this may be a rent.

EA back in the early PS2/Xbox/GC-era actually put out some pretty good licensed games, notably 007 Nightfire , 007 Everything or Nothing and some of their Lord of The Rings games.

TheFirstClassic1731d ago

The world is not enough had a really good game made by eurocom on n64, it was overshadowed by goldeneye and perfect dark unfortunately, I think it has aged better in certain ways, and it had a better framerate. I miss the old days of solid bond games.

0hMyGandhi1731d ago

There were a bunch of fun Bond games, but Goldeneye and World's Not Enough (running on the ski lines in multiplayer was too much fun back in day)

Nightfire was also really great, as well.

PowerOfTheCloud1731d ago

Yup first game that came to my mind. Was better than the movie imho

0hMyGandhi1731d ago

Escape from Butcher Bay remains one of the best games I've ever played.

Leeroyw1731d ago

They managed to make a prison feel real and dangerous. Brilliant

I enjoyed "The Great Escape" game on the PS2. Also "The Thing" on PS2 wasnt to bad. Unfortunately it was to hard at the time when I was younger.

Literal_Cringe1731d ago

6th gen in general was a really good gen for licensed games, so many surprising gems from that time

0hMyGandhi1731d ago

Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Avatar: The game
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

And love it or hate it, Enter The Matrix really scratched the itch for Matrix games as well.

Venoxn4g1730d ago

I prefered matrix: path of neo much more

Top 10 Sequels Nobody Asked For

COGconnected: Some sequels come as a result of the artists behind it truly believing an IP deserves a second chance, could be improved with just a few small tweaks, or is indeed good enough to warrant a sequel. These ones do not.

Loads of people asked for a sequel to Knack, including myself.

The first game was good fun, clearly rushed for launch, but a good launch title for PS4.

rainslacker2014d ago

Yeah, I know a lot of people who liked the game, and said they wouldn't mind a sequel which improved on the original.

SuperSonic912014d ago

Knack 2 is so much fun for couch co-op.

sprinterboy2014d ago

Great for co/op keeping the kids entertained

Platformgamer2014d ago

you stole the words from my mouth.
knack is so underrated

NotanotherReboot2014d ago

So how come "loads of people" didn't buy the game?

Teflon022013d ago

Half a milli is pretty fine for that game actually

rainslacker2013d ago

Loads of people did. Loads of people also played it on PS+.

Although, I don't really know what the actual numerical value is of a load, unless it's the kind of load that we usually see used to criticize Sony or its games.

Akarogg 2014d ago

It sold about as well as Doom on Switch

The great dunk spoke, and knack 2 was goty before it even dropped. Spaghetti. Meatballs. Puerto Rico.

Amplitude2014d ago

Knack 2 and Kane and Lynch 2 were so good
Cool article though aha mostly all true.

Still waiting for Kanye and Lynch 3 to solve that insane cliffhanger ending

PhantomS422014d ago

I will always want more Naughty Bear. Those games are like bad SyFy movies, just so awful but so fun.

Retroman2014d ago (Edited 2014d ago )

Knack 1-2 was Fantastic...,.... hope Knack 3 being developed.
Can't wait for Ratchet and clank 2
Ps4

King_Noctis2014d ago

I wonder what would happen if Knack was multiplatform. Would people defend it that much.

rainslacker2013d ago (Edited 2013d ago )

I think people probably wouldn't even pay attention to it at all. There is no denying that exclusives do get a bit of a bump in notoriety. Same could be said for any number of mid-tier game which is multi-plat. It doesn't really get that much attention outside of an announcement, maybe an occasional screen shot or marketing blurb, and then some reviews on release. Quite a few mid-tier titles that are exclusive...especially those from 1st party, get a lot more attention.

That being said, the first one was pretty fun for a launch title. The second one was really good, although still had some room to do things better.

GRAW2 and Ninja Gaiden 2 and I’ll be set. I’m a little bitter though you can’t buy Splinter Cell Blacklist digitally, I certainly would have bought a new copy to play, I don’t have my disc anymore and I’ll never own another game on disc. Same thing happened with Red River, not sure why it happens but it is disappointing.

Sophisticated_Chap2071d ago

You can actually buy Blacklist digitally:

https://marketplace.xbox.co...

I agree with you though, we need GRAW2, but the game that I am really waiting for is The Darkness (the first game). I just played through GRAW1, and it was the first time that I had ever played the Xbox 360 version. It was good, but GRAW2 is definitely heads and tails above it in terms of the campaign.

It they could ever manage to release FEAR1 digitally, that would be awesome, but not likely.

AK912071d ago

Would love Dishonored 1 and the Batman Arkham games on BC, the remastered versions of those games is hot garbage.

DivineAssault 2071d ago

Do people actually play 360 games on the xb1 or do they kinda toy around for a while to check out the improvements? Im curious because i cant stand last gen games

annoyedgamer2071d ago

Yes, especially the miltiplayer games. I used it for Black Ops 2.

DivineAssault 2070d ago

I can see that. I dont like shooters but if you play those, i guess youd be really into the BC

Einhander19712071d ago

I bought the Xbox one X because of the backwards compatibility. Last gen games look amazing, Gears, Red dead look incredible in 4K. Still some of the best games were on last gen.

Lon3wolf2071d ago

Infinite Undiscovery is the only one I'm waiting on, I replayed Blue Dragon when it hit BC.
