IGN: Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers Review

Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers comes at the nice price of $30. If you're looking for some cheap thrills, you could certainly do worse than this mindless hack-and-slash affair. If a little more work had been put into the game's presentation, this would actually be a highly recommended game.

Presentation - 6.0
Graphics - 7.0
Sound - 5.5
Gameplay - 7.0
Lasting Appeal - 6.5

A pretty 'okay' score in my opinion, I have the game and I'm not doing as much wiggling and waggling as the author seems to state. All I do is sit down, far enough to where my hand motions are recognized by the sensor bar.

Though I agree a few things did get on my nerve about the game, the story is barely explained unless you've played previous installments, you also have to beat the story mode with all four characters to really "get" it.

Overall I think I might drop the score by at least two points (Even though I see what their trying to do with this type of score!) only because the game has at least...5 levels if I remember correctly? With a story mode of 8 stages, 4 characters - 32 times, but hey get Reiko and just shot your way through the whole level. Auto target with "Z" and then just hold the "B" button, shake the wii mote to reload and then repeat the process :).

Its girls in bikinis slashing zombies.

Unless the controls are completely horrible and useless, what more needs to be said?

360roxorz5948d ago

Hahahahaha look at the score... its just as good as Killzone 2!!! Hahahahahah stupid pstards you hyped a mediocre shooter so much that it has flopped!! Hahahah, I don't see why you people would buy such an unorignal piece of crap anyways. I see ZERO innovation here, something that is needed to be a good game. Honestyly, I had more fun with Soldier of Fortune Payback

HAHAHAHAH

I actually predicted that a sh*t-headed comment likes yours concerning Killzone 2 and this game in some way was going to be posted here, merely seconds before I actually read your comment. How f'n predictible.

IGN actually bestowed a 9.4 onto Killzone 2, by the way. But don't let concrete facts get in the way of your D*ck-Headed fanboyism. After all that's the only thing that keeps you from staying in bed all day, isn't it?

The game is great.
I have both the Wii and 360 version and the sad thing is that the 360 versions graphics PALES in comparison to the WII....no joke. The Wiis character models look vibrant and not dull like the 360's.

Panthers5948d ago

The sad thing is that you have 2 copies of this game LOL

andron5948d ago

That's what I have been thinking when watching videos of this. The 360 version looked patchy.

They probably did a fast and dirty port job to maximize profits...

Diehard GameFAN: What’s Worth Keeping? Issue 1: The Nintendo Wii

DHGF: So that’s what “What’s Worth Keeping” will be all about. It’ll be about pairing down my collection with the help of you the readers. You’ll let me know what I should keep, what I should dump, and sometimes even suggest games I might find worthy of being part of my twenty games per console set. In taking this journey with me, you will not only get to know my tastes and preferences better, but hopefully your own as well. Every two weeks, we’ll look at a console and see if we can not only keep my number of games down, but also help you the readers decide if your collection needs pairing down as well. With that in mind it’s time to start this version of the column with the same system we started with two years ago – The Nintendo Wii.

Top 10 Games That Japanese Gamers Can’t Believe Were Made Into Movies (NSFW)

The almost universally dreadful results of the 30 year history of game to movie adaptations, particularly where Hollywood is involved, are highlighted here by Japanese movie fans in this unsurprisingly abysmal ranking. Here are the top ten movies that Japanese gamers couldn't believe were made into movies.

(Warning: Source is NSFW)

Each of the games mentioned have the potential to make a great movie.

Unfortunately the film devs / script writers rarely seem to up to the job.

zerocrossing5010d ago

That's the most annoying thing about it, The franchise chosen for a movie iteration is usually pretty popular, that's why it's chosen in the 1st place. But instead of using the source material and sticking close to what actually made the games popular, the directors seem to have the need to change everything, and it just ends up a complete mess

Pozzle5009d ago (Edited 5009d ago )

Considering the millions and millions of dollars that went into making these movies, I'm surprised at least one of them didn't end up being a fantastic blockbuster.

I mean, statistically you'd think at least one would be good with the amount of cash that went into making them. :(

tiffac0085010d ago

Holy cow! I didn't knew they made a live action of Yakuza. lol! XD

tarbis5010d ago

Oneechanbara... fap fap fap... XD

ShaunCameron5008d ago

It was actually popular in Japan?

By the way, I'm still waiting for the Onechanbara Z Kagura game to come out next year. I need something pretty to fap to while cutting zombies in half.

Venoxn4g5009d ago (Edited 5009d ago )

where's Silent Hill?

Pozzle5009d ago (Edited 5009d ago )

Or Mortal Kombat, for that matter! haha :D

(Who would have thought MK would ever be made into a movie...let alone a good one!)

Venoxn4g5008d ago

I wrote MK before, but deleted because it's not Japanese..

Pozzle5008d ago

Fair enough! :)

(Though I'm now interested in knowing how popular the game-to-movie adaptations based off American games were in Japan)

Diehard GameFAN: What's Worth Keeping On the Nintendo Wii?

DHGF: These days I limit myself to a total of twenty physical copies of games per system. Yet for the past two console generations, I’ve have a hard time finding enough games to reach my maximum of twenty per system. That’s where you, the reader come in. With each column, I’ll give you my list of games I’ve found worth keeping along with a list of games I’ve reviewed for the system. Then begins what I hope to be an in-depth dialogue with multiple readers. You can name games you think I’d like that might make my permanent collection. You might suggest losing Game A in my collection for Game B that I haven’t played as well. It gives you a chance to say what games you would keep if you had to pare down your collection. It lets you get a better look at my preferences and tastes. Most of all, lets you recommend things to me instead of the other way around. After nine years of me reviewing hundreds of games, this might be a bit of fresh air for all of us. Let’s see what happens.

The only game on Wii that worth anything to my family is Wii Sports Resort and that's because my wife and boys love frisbee golf. If it wasn't for that, I doubt we'd turn on the Wii, honestly.
