For all the buzz in the video game industry about high-definition and motion-sensing, you might never guess that one of the best-selling consoles uses decidedly old-school technology.

(MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) and Nintendo Co. Ltd. (7974.OS: Quote, Profile, Research) grab the headlines.
The PlayStation 2's comparatively low price of $130 and a games library of some 2,000 titles, including favorites such as "Metal Gear", "Final Fantasy" and "God of War," has given the sleek black machine a surprisingly long life.

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5
2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

God DMC2 was an awful game.

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
the 360 and the ps3 are just too expensive for the casual gamer right now.
Price drops need to happen for both systems to really take off.
PS2 is easily one of if not thee most successful console of all time.

I have a brand new PS2, memory card and most of the top games for less than half the price of a PS3...
that impressive. Never thought it would be that sucessful.
Especially considereding todays trends of being cool by having the newest and greatest.
Truely an achievment that has only been done by nintendo in terms of longitivity.
