So Sonic Chaos isn't a total retread of territory covered before in earlier Sonic titles -- but it's pretty close. Diehard fans of the hedgehog hero will no doubt want to dive back in to this lesser-known 8-bit adventure and enjoy its handful of unique elements, like Tails' flight and Sonic's Emerald-hunting bonus stages. The rest of the Wii-owning world, though, would be perfectly fine without experiencing this one.

John takes a look at his favourite demos from this year's SAGE, with Sonic Z-Treme and Sonic Chaos just two of the highlights.
John from DSOGaming writes: "Now here is something really special for all our Sonic fans. A+Start has announced a fan remake of the classic 8-bit SEGA Game Gear Sonic game, Sonic Chaos. Based on the current style of 2D classic Sonic games inspired by Sonic Mania, Sonic Chaos updates the 8 bit visuals of the original and adapts a play style more closely resembling the classic 16-bit games."
Literally surprised SEGA hasn't done this themselves, it looks like a brand new game.
For the second part GH101 covers Sonic’s 3D outings including the sordid tale of Sonic Xtreme (and its many other project names and iterations) as well as all other Sonic titles up to 2006 (Sonic the Hedgehog on 360/PS3/PC).
