This game...
I could simplify games and call them 2/5 for many games that people love. But what good would that do?
There seem to be people here making assumptions with nary an ounce of sense of humor between them, but the fact that you didn't get the "★★☆☆☆" reference shows me you didn't even play the game. Classic.

Can’t wait to hate this game for the first 5 months and not finishing it, just to play it again from the beginning on a random day and falling in love with it.

Attempted to play 4 times before it drew me in on the 5th and I’m currently trying to finish before 2
I have been slowly working my way through DS for almost 1 year (11 months to be exact). It took me 10 months and 3 weeks to complete 4 chapters; it just wasn't really hooking me the way people had described. But in the last week, I have really enjoyed it and have completed 7 more chapters, completing chapter 11 last night. Can't wait to finish it and get ready for the 2nd game. It has finally clicked and I am loving it. Glad I stuck with it but it wasn't easy to get there haha.
The Death Stranding 2 review embargo is scheduled to lift on June 23, 2025, at 5 am PT.

Aren't review embargoes mandatory/necessary for those games which have been hyped up but are coming out in a not so decent state ? I heard DS2 has got excellent feedbacks from those who plaied it behind closed doors ... so why is that ? Even "Kojima Productions is pretty confident in the quality of its upcoming title", so what is the matter? Possible spoilers ?
This is a bizarre take. Review embargoes are commonplace among most games, and early embargoes is usually a sign of confidence that the game will be good, not the other way around.
Hey Nick ... i always thought that embargoes are a bit of a damage control strategy instead. Means if the reception of the game behind closed doors is not that great the producer does not want to get the sour word out.
Giving people such a long time with the game before launch, AND a 3 day lift on the embargo before release day bodes REALLY well for this game.
