The remaster of Capcom's action-adventure game, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, is facing backlash over minor changes due to censorship.
There’s perhaps few game franchises out there right now that have such a celebrated legacy but are mostly inaccessible quite like the Onimusha series.
MonsterVine: "Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny returns in a remastered edition that modernizes its action, adds bonus content, and proves the series is ripe for revival."
Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Remaster updates a PS2 classic with smoother combat, sharper visuals, and a few modern tweaks.
Incel outrage is one of the reasons gamers aren't taken seriously.
guess i'll wait for a sale
can't bring myself to support censorship this much
It’s not much of a change but totally unnecessary to be changed in the first place.
I’m still holding out for a physical release on PS5 or Switch. Has Capcom confirmed whether a disc version is still in the works?
How is it censorship if Capcom is the one that made the change of their own volition? I could understand if they did it because they were told to, but that doesn't seem to be the case. At this point, it's a creative change.
You could make the argument that Oyu's costume was only more revealing because they wanted to appeal to horny teens at the time and this is what they would prefer to do.
We don't really know, but it was Capcom's decision, so why is this a big deal?
