On PS blog it clearly said "Starting today, PlayStation Stars will no longer accept new members for this version of the program. "

I was talking about new members can't use their loyalty program. Or returning members.

Basically it's until Nov next year, try not leave PS Star beforehand.

So July is the cutoff? I should have one more $5 reward by then.

November it’s all over. Long time to wait for a replacement. They definitely need something. Just redeemed $5 today.

Anti consumer l unless they come up with a better program. It was a decent program injoyed trying to collect the collectables. I also liked earning the gold coins to redeem for credit. Just redeemed £10 worth of points to buy age of empires.

Why are companies like this these days. It seems everyone is trying to take more and give less back to their loyal base.

I think playatation stars was awesome before the recent changes and I even used it to get a $10 gift card to go towards my purchase of Astro Boy at launch.

What is Sony doing for loyal PlayStation customers at this time?

I don’t think a big enough percentage of people use it for whatever reason so they are going to change it to something else.

I don’t know much about it myself. Can you only sign up through the app? I believe that is the case as that’s the way I found out about it. I am sure many people don’t use the app at all and wouldn’t join because of that. Whatever they come up with it needs to be accessible from the PS Store on the console and easily joined.

I liked Stars for what it was but I do think it could be better. I had no issue meeting the trophy requirements but the game purchases I had a big problem with because I very very very rarely buy digital.

- have a fun little side service for gamer engagement, ranging from casual to hardcore and a points from every purchase system

- rewards are actually decent, with full games like rise of the ronin and stellar blade as redeem options and psn credit

- have the service go down inexplicably for over a month, quietly bring it back and never explain what happened

- strip all the good options from the service and only offer $5 in psn credit instead of various increments

- kill the service

How many 'rewards' programs has this been? Why do they even try if it's not going to be good enough to stick around. Just go back to giving us profile images and wallpapers based on trophies and leave it at that.
