With Zero Marketing Costs!

Congrats to Todd and everyone at Bethesda and Team Xbox!

“With Zero Marketing Costs!”

There’s sponsored ads on PlayStation. Not quite zero.

P_Bomb26d ago

I know. I bought it. But since then, I’ve seen marketing on the PlayStation store as well as YouTube. As recently as today.

@slave

It wasn't a shadow-drop. Like Bethesda always does, but this time instead of modding, they used the fans to market the game so they didn't have to pay for it and then announced it a day before the actual release backed by a sizeable interest from intentional leaks. People got suckered into marketing the game for them and they stepped on everyone by announcing it a day before to capitalize on the 'free' marketing. Fallout Shelter was an actual shadow drop.

And P_Bomb is correct, it costs them to market their stuff on PSN.

Of course, this game was beloved by many.
Oblivion will always be my favorite elderscroll.

It would actually be more impressive if it didn’t sell well.

Hopefully that physical version comes out soon. I’m half way through Infinite Wealth so I’m hoping it becomes an actual thing by the time I’m finished.

Tacoboto25d ago

It's over 120GB. That physical copy isn't happening.

-Foxtrot25d ago

And discs can fit in 100GB

Can easily download the rest

Besides the box art was leaked before the announcement. Everything else came true from those leaks, why not that 🤷🏻‍♂️

babadivad25d ago

It will just be a download key.

It's best for the hyper enthusiasts and I'm one of them.

Bethesda is better than ever under Xbox.

Here´s hoping they will transition from Creation Engine to UE5 or UE6 for TES VI and Fallout 5 the same way they did with Oblivion Remastered

andy859d ago

Better than ever? They've released an average game in Starfield and an absolute disaster in Redfall. Now don't get me wrong I love Oblivion but "under Xbox"? they've prettied up a game the actual talent created 20 years old and have since left. Stellar new experiences remain to be seen for that better than ever tag.

"Now don't get me wrong I love Oblivion but "under Xbox"? they've prettied up a game the actual talent created 20 years old and have since left."

Didn´t known that Todd Howard left Bethesda. Besides, bring actual proof that the devs behind Oblivion left, because I think you´re on some lying bullsh!t here. I´ll wait.

Lightning778d ago

Redfall and Starfield were made way before MS bought them.

Abear219d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Would Bethesda still be the same without Creation Engine? I play Bethesda games for their “charm” no need to make them use the same tools as everyone else. You’re right though, they’re on fire atm. Hopefully they deliver another classic with ES6

PRIMORDUS9d ago

Also the Skyblivion team invited to Bethesda Studios, now that is a dev I can respect.

Unlike some other studios who are pieces of shit along with Nintendo.

Goodguy019d ago

It's definitely closer to a remake as well and for only $50 when they definitely could've charged $70 and still sell very well because of the name. Good on bethesda.

Abear219d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Imagine what RDR2 remaster would do. If the rumors are true about Red Dead and GTA4 remake just buy Take 2 stock now

joab7778d ago (Edited 8d ago )

I love how everyone says Bethesda is back. No. The company that made this game has proven they are AAA status when it comes to remaking games. They deserve 90% of the credit.
Though I’ll give Bethesda credit for allowing it to happen.

I do WISH they had t dropped it at the same f time as Clair Obscura, literally the best new IP in years.

Did they fix the game yet or did the modders already fix it?

Modder turns Oblivion Remastered into a "true" first-person experience with immersive camera tweak

A modder unhappy with how the first-person camera view was implemented in Oblivion Remastered decided to make a better one (with a few bugs).

anast9d ago

Of course they did. Bethesda should do an RPG maker at this point.

MrWood9d ago

True first person is just adding the Unreal Engine VR mod. Runs perfectly!
