I have it on disc, but Im also a GPU member, so it really doesn't affect me. It looks like it sucks for the others who arent GPU members and also have it on disc. It should be a free upgrade for them as well. Maybe they will address that as it gets closer.
Only way to make this announcement even better (for me anyway) is also announcing a new themed controller. Yeah yeah... it's my thing.

Yes a lot of SONY fans where saying, that it was a disaster that MS took Activision and COD and this would lead to games coming of the platform. I guess they where not right at all - this is just the opposite. I guess this and the fact that Trump has dismantled the FTC would help MS buy the next one.

Because believe it or not, most gamers don't really care and most playstation gamers I know, do like Xbox games but they also prefer playstation exclusives and the console, so yeah, just like me, I can't wait for gears on PlayStation, bring on halo now!

It's a 3rd party publishers job to put their games on different platforms. How is this different from other publishers like EA, Ubisoft, etc? They are SUPPOSED to put their games on as many platforms as they can. How come we don't see other publishers flexing how many games they have on Playstation over PS 1st party games? 😂🤣

People who choose not to buy the XB to play these games but are buying the games now on PS really DID want to play them... they just have a thing against the XB (for some ?? reason). Whatever their reasoning is... they are happy to give MS their $$ to play the games now.
PS (only) gamers are hungry for good games while the platform holder (Sony) drags their feet with 1st party releases. Take that as you will, but if sales are to be believed (like the PS side always touts) then it should be proof that PS gamers are tired of being ignored, or dealing with remakes/remasters that nobody asked for, and will turn to the next best thing to come their way... that happens to be Microsoft.

The fallacy that it seems like some are pushing is that PS gamers are ONLY interested in playing PS first-party games. Where did you get that crazy idea from? If that was so, then why are those PS-only gamers also buying third-party games from so many other publishers? When has any company (PS or Xbox) ever cranked out more first-party games than a third-party publisher? Maybe that's the point of understanding where we keep missing each other.

Just because many people chose not to buy an Xbox to play those 'exclusive' games, why would you even think that meant they did not want to play them? I'm sure that there are PS games that Xbox-only gamers want to play, but does that necessarily mean that they want to drop $500 for a PS5 just to play them? You can still want to play certain games but not want to spend a huge upfront cost to play them. And it's also conceivable that the extra cost of Xbox Series just did not appeal to many people who already had a PS5, especially those who saw the writing on the wall so long ago. The only way Xbox was going to make any good on their purchase of ABK was to NOT keep their games exclusive to their console. What many people probably didn't see (some did) was Xbox eventually going full third-party publisher with many of their titles not even related to ABK.
I can't speak for everyone but personally I'd be pissed right now if I already had a PS5 but decided to drop money on an Xbox console just to play their 'exclusive' games, and then they turn around and put all of their games on the PS5 anyway.
Also, when third-party video games that are already available on PS5 eventually (maybe) make their way to Xbox, will you think Xbox-only gamers are 'hungry' to play those games or just happy that they get to play them without having to buy a PS5 (or even more expensive PC) in order to play them?
Sony keeping the lights on in many of these studios and all Sony asks for is enough to wet their beak's say 30% and they sell it in their store now say thank you to the nice company and move forward

You do realise that Forza, Gears of War are no longer XBox games right? They are published by Microsoft. Theres a difference. This is literally more reason not to need a XBox.

Three out of 4 games here were great long before Microsoft owned them. Anyone can buy homework and put their name on it. A game doesn't become bad just because Microsoft bought it. Their tendencies show in their work though. You couldn't catch me playing that micro-transaction filled version of Minecraft, and obviously cookie cutter Oblivion with a facelift would do well. The only game you've mentioned here that was truly made by Microsoft is Forza. Even Gears was owned by Epic before they bought the rights.

Wanna know what my favourite part about all this is? With Sony cancelling games and fumbling big releases (Concord), this would have been a great time for Xbox (the actual box) to have a resurgence if they didn't already bend the knee and provide PS5 owners with reasons to be happy with their platform of choice. PlayStation just can't stop winning, they have almost supernatural good luck.

To game pass day one. Sonys games don’t go on psplus day one and never will. So until Microsoft stops adding all their games to game pass it still makes no sense to buy a ps5 til they start making games again. I have a ps5 and loved Astro bot and look forward to ghost of yotei. That’s a lot all there is to look forward to unless they announce stuff at their summer state of play.

After the recent announcement of price hikes for Xbox related stuff it would not surprise me if all Gears of War games are sold separately for $40 it seems Microsoft wants to generate as much revenue as possible now so we won't be getting any more collections

Except they´re still a *console* manufacture to us and we´ll continue and get everything day one Gamepass Ultimate on Xbox while everyone else who don´t have access to GPU will have to pay full $80 for Xbox first party games.
I rather keep my Xbox Series X and Game Pass subscription over whatever other platforms offerings right now.

Buying a few Microsoft games on a PlayStation you already own is a lot cheaper than a $500, oops, I mean $600 console plus a $15 per month Game Pass, oops, I mean $20 a month Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Man, when I read the news, I thought finally it'd be the trilogy and not just the first one, which was already remastered, to be remastered again.
Good for PS folks but, there's still no Gears 2 or 3 on PC.
Its just Gears 1, Gears 1 Remastered, Gears 1 Re-Remastered, Gears 4 and Gears 5 with a Gears 0 prequel incoming.

Xbox Showcase this year will be all digital, hitting they don´t longer care for a small fanbase now that they have everyone on every single gaming platform.

It really does seem like Phil was right in his "game by game basis" comment. Picking certain ones to release makes that pill easier to swallow. Especially if it means there is also something in it for the XB fans. In this case, XB also gets the reloaded edition.
Now if there is a Halo game to come next, I'm guessing a remaster of Reach. Its Halo enough to get people who chose not to play on XB into the fold, and also not a Master Chief game so it wont ruffle longtime Halo XB fans. If you notice, almost all of these PS releases have been non mainline entries or ones that were initially pitched to PS at one time. which makes a PS release of starfield that much more expected.
