GTA 6 may have been delayed, but there are still plenty of amazing games arriving in 2025.
Jason Schreier reports Rockstar devs saw a 2025 GTA VI release as unrealistic, citing workload and reduced crunch.
Atleast they had the sense to delay it instead of releasing a game full of bugs.
I lived fine with out playing gta6 for 10+ years already, I can wait more. No biggie.
They didn't delay anything. 2025 was never intended. Release dates for R* are just a marketing stunt.
Prime year for Half Life 3 to release completely unchallenged for sales. I know both games are completely different, and it would only likely release on PC.. but still.
Don’t expect massive sales for half life 3, it could face similar problem as final fantasy 7 rebirth
With all the developers and studios closing that actually shipped product, the free pass given to this Rockstar team and of course the Star Citizen team must be infuriating.

From memory all the PS2 ear games target late in the year October ish for holdiday sales u think it was only GTA IV that released in April because they was delayed out of 2007 into April 08 and GTA v was September also

I also think there's a big possibility that this game gets another delay to holiday season 2026 I hope I'm wrong about that
Totally agree this game could be delayed again I think all we have is a assurance that we won't have it before may next year but not much more than that .
I have a feeling that online will be split off and launch a month later akin to rdr2 and GTA v

I was more waiting for when they'd announce the delay rather than if.
No way were they releasing that gargantuan game during that time with very little shown off.
GTA IV designer also shared similar experience during the recent 17th anniversary, that it (IV) got pushed back to 2008 from 2007 and that current GTA VI team might be facing similar decision.
What I kinda expected sorta, they'd drop a micro teaser with the delay announcement. Coulda helped the starving community.
Anyways, good for gaming industry as a whole as well. Lots a breathing room now. Plus, we are already getting Mafia this year and MindsEye (which might get a delay as well, since the late year block is much free now).
I bet some are! I know that on some facebook groups, some people swore on their mother's life that GTA6 was coming out this year lol! Anyone with a braincell could see this coming from a.......year away!
As soon as Sony committed and gave Ghost of Yotei a solid release date in October I knew something was up.
Either they knew somehow or took a massive gamble.

Well the other publishers can now release their games without being afraid of clashing with the release date of GTA VI. Maybe will have some sooner release dates for some games. One can always hope...
Microsoft must’ve been made aware of Rockstar’s delay, that’s why it felt safe announcing price rises. Otherwise it would never make its consoles more expensive when GTA VI is out if PS5 is cheaper.
It's no big shock honestly when you look at the history of the franchise every single mainline entry has received a delay since GTA 3 they never meet the planed launch day. Even one of the stories games for significant delays or what felt significant at the time
Is it a disappointment yes but I know Rockstar are perfectionist so I have full faith it will be worth the wait

TNS: With the Nintendo Switch 2 bringing new games that cost $80 bucks, what's stopping Rockstar from giving GTA 6 a price tag of $100 or more?
Hopefully everyone will hate Nintendo with passion like they did Sony if this happens. $90 physical games here Nintendo comes!
But honestly, I applaud their balls going for that $450 pricetag with a 1080p lcd screen and a mere 256GB storage. Additional SD card is definitely needed and they're expensive and their games are expensives despite the 3rd party games being the worst version of the bunch.

I feel like people aren't talking enough about the storage situation. It kind of has been overshadowed by the prices.
The price should make the matter worse if you consider the storage. And the mere 12GB of RAM, most probably only like 10GB usable due to the OS needing some reserves but that's being generous. Considering the "new" online features, I doubt 2GB of RAM is enough for the OS. With under 10GB RAM, you can just forget 4K even if the system supports 4K output. I think even 1440p will be reached only with DLSS. RT? Yeah maybe at 900p
Steam Deck is $400 for a dramatically lower quality display - 800p 60hz non-HDR - and a lower capacity battery.
It has the superb ecosystem, but no baseline for performance and "Verified" lately tends to mean titles that just barely run on the thing.
I was so disappointed by my steam deck's display, IPS glow and everything, only for them to bring out the OLED a year or so later. So like with pro model consoles, I now know to wait for the OLED models for handhelds.
Would be crucified for sating this but OLED is not the be all and end all for a good display and experience. Yeah, the Deck LCD is kinda bad, but I am still genuinely impressed by the display of the PS Portal which is also LCD. Reports are saying that the Switch 2 display is equally good too.

Yeah but probably it will be worth it. If ubisoft or EA price their yearly crap games 100$ I wouldn‘t even consider buying them for a second.
R* doesn‘t need an excuse. Their games use to set the bar so high that no one even comes close for years and years. No company has come close to RDR2 when it comes to open worlds and the same will happen with GTA6.
I have no problem with companies wanting to charge 100$ for their games. I would just never buy them. 🙅

Two of the biggest came out on June 24 and that was The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club: Tokimeki Roadmap to the Future. The only big ones left are Doom: The Dark Ages, No Sleep for Kaname Date and Virtual Girl @ World's End.
I could play these even if gta6 was out.
