The marketing window for Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games' open world action game, GTA VI, is relatively close to its release.

It’s not coming this year. I don’t know why people can’t accept this! lol

Profchaos39d ago

Until Rockstar outright say it's not happening then it's happening.

They dropped the trailer and got 200 million views in a few days they could shadow drop the game and it would outsell everything that has ever existed movies and games

Abear2139d ago

Agreed, but with each day that passes and we hear nothing the more obvious it becomes that Rockstar themselves aren’t sure it’ll be ready.

Putte40d ago

So April will actually be the month when it all starts. So they have changed the hype windue a little with shorter time between marketing and release. I like that

lucasnooker40d ago

Yeah yeah. Downvote me all you like. Y’all gonna see soon when we get that official delay. We ain’t even got trailer 2 yet. You guys are delusional

Abear2139d ago (Edited 39d ago )

I think you’re right, maybe an Ass Creed Shadows situation where they launch a few months later than expected to polish up.

I’ve been checking gaming news lately with more excitement knowing the second trailer or release day is going to be announced and it’s crickets.

The silence is deafening at this point and it does seem more likely it’ll slip to first quarter of ‘26

thorstein40d ago

"Marketing window"

Rockstar just needs to drop the release date and the entire gaming world stops.

Putte40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

Next month will be the time the world stops.

Profchaos39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

According to Rockstar that window is whenever they damn well please

They gave a singular sentence saying we can't wait to show what we have been up to last December and the world lost it's mind the trailer would go on to hit 250 million views on Rockstars channel not including the many more ign or other outlets got making the trailer one of the most watched videos within 24 hours

Putte39d ago

Yes and that is what everybody is debating now. When that is. What's your point?

Profchaos39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

I'm not convinced by this statement given the initial trailer dropped in December 2023.

If you think this at all touches the horniness of BG3, then you haven't played BG3 or been on the subreddit for the game.

chrisx8h ago

With these 2 it might mean we won't be able to pick hookers lol. Like GTA 4

anast3h ago

Just an excuse to use this title

gigoran81h ago

I didn't see anything to prove that statement at all. Can you F a bear? No? Case closed

Seems like a blatant lie and excuse to use gta 6 tags

Rockstar confirms the GTA VI trailer comprised of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes

Rockstar Games : Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 was captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, comprised of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes.

italiangamer1d 8h ago

PlayStation 5 directly mentioned on the official Rockstar's Twitter account, and people still questioning if Sony has the marketing rights or not 😂.
By the way when GTA 6 comes out in 1 year the PS5 will have reached the 100 million units mark 🤯.

Scissorman18h ago

And its release is going to be a system seller for Sony. I wouldn't be surprised if it pushes the PS5 passed the PS4 total of 118 million units next year.

Aloymetal16h ago

No doubt about that, another gen with 100+ mil in the bag. This game is gonna sell like crazy just like the PS5.

1nsomniac10h ago

Just listen to the state of you losers.

That’s not me trying to bash you, that’s genuine pity for you.

neutralgamer199213h ago

I think this is the first GTA where Sony doesn't have to pay at all or a lot for exclusive marketing. What choice does R* have for partners? One console sells all the games while other console has gamers who consume their content through a subscription service (not hating on either just stating facts)

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sold more than 90% on PS5. The sales breakdown just gives Sony a huge advantage when negotiating deals. Their platform sell games.

InUrFoxHole2h ago

Wow console sales... Fascinating!

thorstein1d 2h ago

Of course it did. Who says it didn't?

Grilla19h ago

Digital Foundry. Said it was all cutscenes.

tombfan16h ago

They just analyze from what they see... Rockstar in the other hand well... Erm... They are making the game and all the content for it. So I guess they're more trustworthy.

TheKingKratos16h ago

DF said it ... It must be true then

I mean who in their right mind would trust Rockstar who never released a trailer for a game and didn't exceeded it on release /s

thorstein16h ago

DF isn't what they used to be.

repsahj15h ago

DF is always guessing nowadays. Look what they did to Switch 2. All guessing, and they all guess it wrong.

Ashunderfire869h ago

Digital Foundry are not the end all be all. They are definitely not the game developers, I trust more than YouTubers trying to get views. Digital Foundry was called out back when they defended the first Halo Infinite trailer, blaming the bad graphics on lighting🤣

They were very wrong about the power of the Switch 2 as well. No I stick with what the developers say thank you very much.

Tacoboto8h ago

Did you actually watch DF?

It was a long 40+ minute video, of them showing how it is real rendering. Reducing that to them having "Said it was all cutscenes" is a flat out lie.

I mean you can tell if you’ve played GTA games, like the walking into the home is a cutscene to gameplay transition, the weight lifting is gameplay, the first person driving view is, and the riding the motorcycle while a plane is behind you is as well. There’s probably more, but it’s impressive that it’s difficult to tell.

The other thing I noticed is in previous GTA trailers they’ve shown missions but used cinematic camera angles on them for the trailer. So maybe the swamp chase is gameplay.

Man, this game… my hype is through the roof. I’m just hoping what we see isn’t going to be massively downgraded. The fact that it’s shown on PS5 makes me think this is really it.

fr0sty17h ago

GTA has always used in-engine cutscenes, so there isn't any difference in quality between the cutscenes and gameplay to begin with.

Cockney13h ago(Edited 13h ago)

Of course there is, cutscenes always outshine gameplay simply because they have more power to play with, no ai just scripted, yeah they always whack up the quality for cutscenes

Terry_B11h ago

GTA 2 had movie cutscenes.

MatrixxGT17h ago

I know it’s just a trailer but I think this is the first game that feels “next gen” since the whole ps5 era began 5yrs ago.

LarVanian17h ago

Spider-man 2 (excluding the launch glitches and bugs) gave me somewhat of a next gen feel.
I get what you mean however. It's a pity we are only getting that feeling in what is most likely the final stage of this gen.

anast16h ago

Demon Souls, Spiderman 2, Ratchet and Clank, Astrobot, Returnal...all feel this gen. This is 1 game a year.

MatrixxGT14h ago

1 game a year is pathetic compared to Sonys track record though. Really feels as if I could have kept my ps4 pro all this time and not miss much outside the benefits of a SSD.
Hopefully with this and intergalactic the next few years can really start cooking.

anast13h ago

@Matrix

Anyone the uses the word 'pathetic' in a discussion like this should take a break to realign those chakras. Then did through some history and comeback with an actual response.

anast3h ago

I can't even call that naive ignorance at this point. Laziness perhaps.

PanicMechanic36m ago(Edited 34m ago)

Yea Spiderman 2… game blew me away with the sandman fight on ps5… at 360p resolution🤣 it was more of an iteration on Spiderman ps4. Nothing about it is all that amazing. Plus looking back, that game actually sucked balls and was a huge disappointment for me after falling in love with Spiderman 1 and MM

Returnal for sound design. Other than that, it runs at 1080p on ps5.

Astrobot? Yes ratchet? Definitely yes. Demons souls? Hellllll yes

TheKingKratos16h ago

That's because most games released till very recently was mostly cross gen and most major 1st party developers didn't release a true ps5 game that was build from the ground up

this gen sucks

InUrFoxHole2h ago

Yeah but this game is gonna sell consoles.

italiangamer15h ago

This gen is going to last a long time, look at the PS4, it's 12 years old and games are still announced every week for it.
The same will happen with the PS5 so I'm not worried at all.

MatrixxGT14h ago

Yeah I think we have just hit the point of diminishing returns as far as hardware goes. Growing up through all the gens it was super cool seeing the new generation games and how much of a generational leap games became and with this transition it’s been pretty blah outside SSDs reducing load times.

repsahj15h ago

Demons Souls remake looks next gen to me during it's launch.

anast13h ago

They ignore anything that doesn't align with stupidity.

John, Oliver and Alex compare notes on the trailer, sharing their thoughts on various aspects of the game's technological profile.

I will likely buy it on PS5, I'd like to buy the PC release but what might be a good idea is to buy it on PS5 and then I may wait for it to launch on PC with a good discount for the 60+FPS gameplay.

Just a shame the PC version probably won't launch the same year as on console. I won't double dip at silly pricing though.

Snookies121d 4h ago

Yeah, I'm just going to get it on PS5. Would have loved a simultaneous PC release but I'm not waiting around for it. Always insane to me when developers actively build these games on PCs from the ground up. Then don't release them for consumers on PC, lol. I'm definitely not paying full price when it DOES come to PC.

andy8520h ago(Edited 20h ago)

Can't wait for this, even if it's 30 fps which still isn't confirmed, played it for years and years in the past and it didn't kill me. I'm sure the eyes will adjust again
