Nice, I'm one those copies! I was thinking the same thing as you, I only started it because I wanted to like see how the first couple of hours were, now here I am down the rabbit hole, this game grabs you and it grabs you quick.

Awesome. I've got it penciled in for after I platinum GTA 6. Maybe I could squeeze it in after I platinum Ghost Of Yotei, but we'll see. The game does look really great and I haven't played a turn-based game in a long time, I used to really love them.

I wasn’t a fan of 16 but yes it did evolve the Final fantasy format further. They are moving forward regardless how people feel. They made 14 turn based games.

They want to move into more action RPGs and change the engagement people have with the franchise. They want to open up to more people and that’s fine, I may not have cared for 16 but I thoroughly enjoyed 15 and the final fantasy 7 remakes.

And I also still have 14 prior turn based games I can play no problem

It’s a very quality rpg so far, the life in the environment, core mechanics, character expressions/details, quality graphics, solid performance. This game definitely deserves the hype.

I'm playing on gamepass but i have purchased a copy on steam this game is soooo good.

I haven't bought it on Steam because it doesn't have cross saves like it does on the Xbox store.

It's so cool playing on Xbox and then picking up right where I left off on PC. It's seamless.

If the game is available (which it often isn't unfortunately), I buy it on the Xbox store for this reason.

If it's not on the Xbox store, I buy on Steam or other store fronts.

I’ve been hard on this game and i’ve been sh***** on it for days but i was wrong and although i do have a few minor gripes like for example i’m not a fan of it’s visual style that much and the world but whatever i was wrong and this game is great. In fact it could be really special and i hope that feeling doesn’t change until the end credits.

You should know what you like and don’t right? Especially if you’ve been gaming for more than 20 years and played every type of game and know every game design. My feelings are almost always spot on. I’m also not a big fan of turn based combat, the only exception to that rule was Persona 5.. somehow it worked for me but this game has dodging, parrying and free aiming and that is an awesome mix that makes it not boring.

Also also i hate when people overhype things it ruins it for me and the said thing is almost never as good as people say it is in my experience. For example anime world is ripe with what i call the curse of overhyping.. people just can’t shut the f up about their favourite anime saying it’s the best ever, overblowing the goddamn review scores and it’s always not that when i watch it so i’m a very sceptical man.

I wasn't s*** posting online or anything like that it was more in my head. Trust me if or when your cynicism levels reach mine after you've seen everything and you see the cracks everywhere, when you have zero respect left for the industry and it's boring slop games they try to sell you for 70(now soon 80 or maybe even 90 dollars lol) you would be singing a different tune. And sometimes just sometimes it turns out you can be wrong like in this game's case and i'm glad i was.

Well deserved. I've been playing it all weekend. I am absolutely hooked. What a phenomenal game, and beautiful too. I find myself just taking my time, looking at the environments, and taking screenshots. It is stunning!

About two hours in I was calling it GOTY material, now twenty hours in, I think it's easily in the top 3 games I've played in the last decade. The game just keeps getting better the further you get. This is a truly special game, one of the darkest gaming stories I've seen and told with some of the most beautiful and yet horrifying environments I've seen, all wrapped up in an absolutely astounding soundtrack. For JRPG fans, this is a must play.

Dude square has been cooked for so long now. The people that made the old games that i loved have been long gone from that company. The name "Final Fantasy" carries square and has been for a long time. They havent done anything note worthy since the ps2 erra. I know people love ff14 and 7 remake and good for them but that's not Final Fantasy as i know it. This game scratches that itch a little bit for me so its been nice.

Yeah, I'm playing on PS5 and got a physical copy. There are also deluxe and collectors editions, but those are only at GameStop I think. I almost got the deluxe edition, but went with the standard edition.

Clair Obscur is the final nail in the coffin for me for having no patience for the crap AAA studios put out. Less than 50 people, first game released. Amazing art, great gameplay, new IP. From a solidly AA studio. After Khazan, Stellar Blade, Lies of P, Clair Obscur, Hi-Fi Rush, I simply don’t need AAA anymore. So the big studios need to do better, or fuck off. No more excuses.
