There isn't one. Gematsu has an article saying the game is reported to be in its 9th month of development. Far from complete.
Ok so this headline is as misleading as they get. The game is still clearly going to be a playstation timed exclusive. He is referring to if it will be next gen only or cross-gen.

Yes this is pretty key actually. I said this was the best FF in decades and you challenged that as just my opinion. My statement stands.
Sure. In theory they could make new characters and build a new world, but going by the MC scores I think it's pretty unlikely to be as great. Personally, I like these characters and think the conversion is successful. People were literally clamouring for a remake for decades. It's silly to assert that this is somehow milking the IP.
Yea people really don't know just how much 7 related games there really is. I understand many think it's the best FF they've gotten in years, but maybe Square should put more effort into making a FF that's actually great rather milking 7 for nostalgia sake.
You know what the funny thing is, I think Rebirth would have been a better game if it wasn’t tied to VII and was a single mainline FF game.

It’s a totally different scenario, if that was the case I’d have complained that Final Fantasy in general is “milked” but they just focus on VII while the others are left to rot.
eh for the main story yes. I’d like to see the Professor Gast, Vincent and Lucrecia back story extended as that was a cool bit in the og.

Letting it be milked is just going to let it get to that point where eventually they’ll over exploited it to the point where even someone like you will get tired of it and suddenly wonder “how did it get to this point”, maybe even thinking they’ve ruined a good thing they had going for it.
Let’s not play the “don’t play it if they do” card because all you’re doing is brushing criticism off and honestly when there’s so many other FF games that deserve a sequel, prequel or whatever it just comes off super selfish tbh.
By the time the 3rd part comes out it'll be almost 30 years since the OG released , with the list you mentioned excluding the episode/minigame type content it's hardly been milked . There was also a 13 year gap from 2007-2020 where no FF7 content was released .. now how is that milking ?!?!

I hope they make vincent valentine crit build with deadth blow that skill with 100% accuracy gun got me through entirety of OG FF VII :D till I got my hands on KOTR summon etc...
I also hope they can give a materia with all elements in it Fire, Ice, Wind and thunder and hopefully multiple of those, so we wouldn't have to swap around for challenges...as we all know magic is OP in this game

I'd like to see some other games get the FF7 treatment like say Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Grandia. Or another FF game I know there are fans of FF9 who would like a remake I wouldn't mind an FF8 remake.

The original game came out in 1997. Old concept sure, but it's good to know they are making it possible with the graphics and size of the current version.
Like it’s funny to me how big of a deal the airship is for some. Don’t get me wrong, I like the inclusion and I am curious what it’ll be like, but for the OG it was just nice to traverse the world map freely and quickly with it. It never was a feature that blew my mind or I said to myself I missed. If anything I miss the traditional JRPG world map and I think games like Ni No Kuni did an excellent job of making it look modern while still feeling traditional. I kind of wish that still existed in a sense with the Remake.
It is because there hasn't been a FF since 9 that gave you full airship control on the map, as opposed to selecting locations on a map or something heavily neutered from that old experience we remember.

Yes, i remember that. FF9 was the last FF game that was possible with an airship to fly. FF10 has it too but can't fly around, more like fast travel to each location you want.
FF7 is still in my opinion the best game. FF7 Remake was a small start but expanded from original in Midgar. FF7 Rebirth is something we got alot to see in an open world but not everything is shown, more like 65% of the world we saw from the original open world. The third installment will be a blast what we will see in an open world to fly around.
It is sad that sales weren't enough in FF7 Rebirth. That game was so freaking awesome! The best FF game with an open world and huge difference from FF16. Don't get me wrong, i like FF16 aswell but it's new and FF7 is well known from the original open world.
There was no game from FFIX until FFXV. Sure, not a classic airship, but a vehicle that can take you anywhere through the sky.
I'm very happy they seem to solve this also in FFVII Rethird 🙌
I also miss the overworld from modern JRPGs, FF7R was so overly ambitious that the Highwind has to be a big deal in the remake, I honestly would have been okay with a modernised version of the over world.
