Again nothing new if you played the original.

gold_drake191d ago (Edited 191d ago )

dont buy it then, this notion of brining others exciting down is so odd to me.

its rly that easy. i for one cant wait.

The original game came out in 1997. Old concept sure, but it's good to know they are making it possible with the graphics and size of the current version.

CrimsonWing69191d ago

Like it’s funny to me how big of a deal the airship is for some. Don’t get me wrong, I like the inclusion and I am curious what it’ll be like, but for the OG it was just nice to traverse the world map freely and quickly with it. It never was a feature that blew my mind or I said to myself I missed. If anything I miss the traditional JRPG world map and I think games like Ni No Kuni did an excellent job of making it look modern while still feeling traditional. I kind of wish that still existed in a sense with the Remake.

Redgrave191d ago

It is because there hasn't been a FF since 9 that gave you full airship control on the map, as opposed to selecting locations on a map or something heavily neutered from that old experience we remember.

That's why it's a being treated as it is.

CornholioX191d ago (Edited 191d ago )

Yes, i remember that. FF9 was the last FF game that was possible with an airship to fly. FF10 has it too but can't fly around, more like fast travel to each location you want.

FF7 is still in my opinion the best game. FF7 Remake was a small start but expanded from original in Midgar. FF7 Rebirth is something we got alot to see in an open world but not everything is shown, more like 65% of the world we saw from the original open world. The third installment will be a blast what we will see in an open world to fly around.

It is sad that sales weren't enough in FF7 Rebirth. That game was so freaking awesome! The best FF game with an open world and huge difference from FF16. Don't get me wrong, i like FF16 aswell but it's new and FF7 is well known from the original open world.

MrNinosan191d ago

There was no game from FFIX until FFXV. Sure, not a classic airship, but a vehicle that can take you anywhere through the sky.

I'm very happy they seem to solve this also in FFVII Rethird 🙌

FinalFantasyFanatic191d ago

I also miss the overworld from modern JRPGs, FF7R was so overly ambitious that the Highwind has to be a big deal in the remake, I honestly would have been okay with a modernised version of the over world.

I liked the whole “one-wing” arm thing and wings for legs… not quite digging the redesign that has both arms and legs, but I’ll need to see it in action. If it’s like the Dissidia design *BARF*

that means ... i need to stay away from anything ff related soon ha

DivineHand12533d ago

How is square able to keep up with their normal release cadence while other studios can't?

Chard33d ago

Same (unreal) engine, and more importantly same dev team. Also helps that this is part 3 of a game that essentially already exists

TricksterArrow33d ago

Also, same world map and same assets, for the most part.

andy8533d ago

We've probably only seen half the world and a lot will have to be redesigned for highwind travel. It's not a yakuza situation 😂

Goodguy0132d ago (Edited 32d ago )

Probably an early 2027 release. Also odd we haven't gotten anything kh4 related since that first trailer, that game better show up soon unless nomura is doing crazy things again bringing development hell...again.

According to recent reports the third game is already complete. This game should definitely be out before PS6. Also I hope they switch to UE5.

CrimsonWing69122d ago

Can you link me to these reports? That doesn’t sound right at all. I think the story/scenario is complete, but the game itself is not.

ZeekQuattro121d ago

There isn't one. Gematsu has an article saying the game is reported to be in its 9th month of development. Far from complete.

Cacabunga121d ago

Remake unfortunately did not turn into the system seller i thought it would be

Yui_Suzumiya121d ago

2026 at the absolute earliest and 2028 at the latest.

Extermin8or3_122d ago

Ok so this headline is as misleading as they get. The game is still clearly going to be a playstation timed exclusive. He is referring to if it will be next gen only or cross-gen.

Cockney121d ago

Unless gamepass give them a stack of money then the only other place apart from playstation is pc

ravens52121d ago

Exactly. But there's people spinning it saying it won't be a Playstation timed exclusive .

andy85121d ago

I mean obviously. It won't even be a PS6 game it'll be a PS5 game. And probably the trilogy as a PS6 remaster

gold_drake121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

of course not

it will be on the ps5 still
but it makes me wonder why he said that. does that mean it comes out around the dame time as the ps6? or shortly before that?
