and its getting a new update! Time for my yearly playthrough of Prophecies.

PRIMORDUS9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Yes, it's been busy since the update yesterday. I been playing since May 2004 the very first beta, but haven't really played it since 2012 that's when GW2 came out. I come back to GW1 sometimes but now I want to see what new quests I can do.

Michiel19899d ago

i played it since day1 or should I say night 1. Stayed up, put blankets over my monitor (totally not a fire hazard) so my parents couldn't see as easily that I was awake and was playing as soon as the servers opened. I never really got into gw2, I played it a bit at launch and a bit more when path of fire came out but for some reason it just never stuck with me. I think it was the overly focus on achievement hunting.

The new quests are apparently focused on doing missions from the campaigns and the rewards are miniatures that were previously only available from exclusive events (preorder in different countries, winning tournies that kinda stuff). I think 5 years back or so they also released a bunch of new weapons for each class, I think a hammer for necromancers, sword for elementalists and the list goes on, which you can only get during the anniversary each year, combined with some new elite skills.

I played it a little when it came out but I was still playing EQ mainly when it came out and couldn’t get pried away from that. Maybe it’s time to go back and really play it

Michiel19899d ago

it's very different from EQ, but it's my fav (pseudo) mmo. It's also not as time intensive as most of the other mmo's from that age (unless you wanna grind for all the cosmetics), lvl cap is 20 which you will reach by just playing the campaign or even quicker if you play one of the 2 newer campaigns. After that the main thing to chase is skills. armor and weapons with the best stats are relatively easy to get unless you want the fancy looking ones.

Played from 2005 to gw2 launch, played gw2 since launch up until about 4 years ago? Just couldn't keep myself interested on the zerg rush of it all. Gw2 is at its best for me playing the vanilla quest from lvl 1-80. Love those maps. Queensdale is such a good intro map.

Heres hoping they take more from guild wars 1 for guild wars 3. I want to be a healer again!

Sony is now remastering games with 71s on metacritic.

Like that's a judge of anything
This game got scored before it was released.

andy856h ago

Days gone is 85+. It got heavily marked down at launch for bugs where as others get a free pass for that. It's a fantastic game.

andy856h ago

I spoiled myself by modding this game on my PC. Genuinely one of the best looking games I've ever seen. Whilst this remaster looks nice it just doesn't compare to that sadly. It shows the effort that these remasters could put in if they wanted

I so hope this game or DLC for those of us who own the original sells well.
Ive said it before, its an underrated game for sure & was unfairly judged upon release.
Please try this game if you haven't already.

For those who say 'i won't purchase digital only' you can pickup a hard copy for 5 bucks here in Australia, then add the DLC and you have a superb game for $20 or so.

Give it a shot, tell me I'm wrong After completing the game.

Game on gamers.

It was full of bugs at release I wouldn’t call that being unfairly judged. If you want your game to score well then release it in a completed state. Now with that being said I think the game was pretty good.
