I have been slowly working my way though this game for months. I keep playing other games in between but I want to finish it before DS2.
I ended up with over 140 hours on it, but I wasn't exactly rushing. Ended up seeing to it that all roads were rebuilt too.
There are still a few Half Life missions left that I think I'll do.
Man I love this game. Platinumed it and played through it a 2nd time just for fun. I'm day 1 with bells on for the sequel

Plenty of games have made a name for themselves as being proud of the fact they’re not to everyone’s taste over the years.
I mean I can do without nintendo games if given the choice. They are not nearly as mature rated as the average.
Yeah but I use my Switch OLED primarily for anime booba style games (visual novels and JRPG's) and ultra violent FPS's. Far from kid friendly, lol
The problem with that line of though is that games have never been as much "for everyone" as in 2025.
The only thing that's not for everyone in gaming lately is the gatekeeping. Devs will try to appeal to as many people as they can, but if you dare have your own tastes and prefer something a bit more obscure, then you have "L takes" because at the moment, popular opinion equals right opinion.
So devs should simply own the fact they water down their games and go Hollywood to please everybody. Then indies will go back to being trendsetters that are different from AAAs, instead of being roguelike and gacha copycats.
Okay, but "games I'm not meant to love" means I won't play them.
Games are for fun. They're their own art, it's a disservice to reduce them to interactive stories. You can focus on making your audience entertained on a positive way and still stand out.
No game is for everyone. Some games are more mainstream or casual friendly but there is always someone who won’t like it. Same with anything else

As long as every console owner gets a good version, lovely, however that’s not the point of a graphics review…This reviewer doesn’t have the technical chops, or equipment, to determine the precise differences between the versions. To measure via the naked eye and claim some versions are ‘identical’ is not based on data, but feelings, it is effectively deceit. I could’ve written a more detailed comparison and I’ve never played the game. I’ll wait for a real review.

Seriously, dude, they are basically the same image. We get you love your PS5, but come on man lol. Unless you are 2ft away from your screen not sure how you tell the difference.
All the games I've tested on the Pro look and run amazing, TLOU2, Horizon FW, Ratchet, they all look impressive and crisp, even GT7 which doesn't have a pro patch yet (coming late Nov) runs 4k120fps with VRR and the image quality is superb. Some PS4 games look a bit better and some look about the same. If this is how things look now I really can't wait for future PS titles like Ghost of yotei, wolverine and DS2. We're in for a treat;)

Unless some people are mistaking your X and PS5 comparison with PS5 Pro, I’m not sure why they are disagreeing with you. X and PS5 have almost always had comparable graphics and performance. Maybe it’s just my old eyes but they look the same to me lol.

Well there seems to be a hit and miss when it comes to 3rd party titles.1st party of course are always gonna be a hit on pro because of course it's first party.
I find it strange the game runs just as well on X 5 and 5 Pro comparably with hardly a difference. Then again I dont think there's a Pro patch to take advantage of it, there is that. It's the Decima engine in house Sony made engine you would think the game would look best on PS5 and even pro

You say that like you just figured that out. That's been a thing for like a month. I saw you mention it as some sorta gotcha point as if you just discovered that xbox. You gotta keep up as everyone already knew about that console. Not saying it's any better but then again it is a limited 600$ edition.

The PS5 Pro doesn't need a vertical stand if you already have the disc drive. It also comes with 2 horizontal stand clips after I watched the teardown on the console. But regardless it's way more powerful than the Xbox series X
