4 more days until you can buy physical copy. It’s super strange they don’t allow preorders for the physical copy. Maybe they are trying to push digital for people who can’t wait? I don’t get it really as I’d want to get as many preorders physical or not. It’s not ideal but whatever I’ll be on it first thing when it’s available as I’ve signed up for notifications for the sites that I can.

Too bad this is not a remastered collection of the original Sega CD versions; The superior versions of these games. They could've at least thrown in the og games as extras or something.

Going to pass on this collection unless they become ultra cheap.

PS1 versions are the best imo

The Sega CD versions are actually superior for a variety of reasons, but to each their own.

LOL. No they're not. At least not with Silver Star CD. I still own all versions of both. Silver Star CD had about 8 mins of cutscenes and Alex only had a single word of spoken audio dialog.

Now, Eternal Blue CD is an entirely different story. Its probably as good (if not better) than Silver Star Story Complete. Quite amazing how they were able to cram so much content onto a single disc.

The Sega CD versions are superior, by a country mile, and then some. The stories are better presented, while their surprises and plot twists are hidden in a more elegant fashion. The atmosphere are more foreboding, especially in TSS, while the dungeon designs are superior in both SCD versions. Not to mention the intro to The Silver Star on the SEGA CD is an all time gaming classic, and the game feels apocalyptic. And while the cutscnenes in TSS are not that many, just like with Eternal Blue, they merge better with the gameplay. In the case of Eternal Blue, the cutscenes have better shots and pacing than the ugly, CGI ridden remaster.

The remakes do have better pixel art, without a doubt, but in the case of TSS, wholly inappropriate color palette. Pretty but it kills the vibes. And the remasters also have some welcomed quality of life improvement here and there for sure. And that's about it.

If anyone want to experience these games, it's the SEGA CD versions the ones you need to play. Then you can play the watered down remasters if you need more Lunar.

Review - Lunar Remastered Collection (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Both Lunar and Lunar 2 are utterly adorable JRPGs with lovable characters and great plots you can’t help but want to experience as much as possible. To have them available in an accessible and polished remastered package is more than just a lot of bang for you buck, but also a great way to preserve two cult hits from the 90s, finally making them easily accessible to a wider audience. It’s a good thing they are charming as hell, as their gameplay is grindy and dated. If you can put up with the clichés and limitations of old-school JRPGs, then Lunar Remastered Collection is a very easy recommendation."

I got 2 copies, one to play and one for my unopened collection but I was only able to get those because I knew when they were releasing physical copies. They sold out quickly and most people missed out. They are making more but how many who knows.

This sold out fast. I got an extra copy(not opening it for collection) from VGP but it was limited to 1 per customer. I read someone’s comment that said they will keep printing more as long as there is good demand but I don’t know if that’s true or not.
