IGN : We’ve got a jam-packed episode this week! First order of business, Blue Prince just dropped and it’s currently the best-reviewed game of the year so far, so what’s the big deal? We invited IGN’s executive reviews editor and Blue Prince reviewer Tom Marks to discuss.
Once in awhile, a game comes along and changes the gaming landscape for the foreseeable future. With the arrival of Blue Prince, I expect to see more games coming in a similar mold over the next few years.
Blue Prince has taken the Internet by storm and for very good reason. It’s one of the most divisive experiences you’ll have, thanks to what could be considered questionable gameplay design decisions, that in tandem with its long list of admittedly neat puzzles help exponentially prolong what could've beeen a much tighter game.
Blue Prince’s PS Plus debut could mark a turning point, showing Sony may be ready to treat top-tier indies as headline acts, not just filler content.
It’s not like a great indie comes out every month and it’s also difficult to tell when an indie is going to be received well.
Let's see: Animal Well, Bugsnax, Kena, Sea of Stars, Sifu, Stray, and the list goes on. Sony has been treating top-tier Indies as headline acts for quite some time. Blue Prince is just continuing the trend.
They have been doing this for years even going back to PS3.
Here is some of the big games they have had day one on PS+..
All of these games are 75+ meta and many are upper 80's and 90's

I honestly don't understand the hype about Blue Prince. Played it for a couple of hours, then deleted it. It's more like a card game/game of chance than a puzzle game. The only two puzzles I came across took a few minutes to figure out the first time, then it's the same thing again every time they crop up.
I have 10 days off and wanted to play Expedition 33 and now see this. What to do!!
Seriously though, it would be a HUGE win for Sony and for smaller games for a PS Plus game to win GOTY!
Seriously incredible.
This is interesting. I saw it is hitting PS+, and I had never heard of it and probably wouldn't have had the initiative to try it on my own. However, i keep reading great things about it and seen some perfect scores. I'll at least give it a shot at the pricetag of free!
I got an alert last night that this game was out and it was apparently on my wishlist. And I'd never heard of it and not the type of game I'm interested in playing.
