The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 will be livestreamed on Sunday, June 8, immediately followed by The Outer Worlds 2 Direct.

@Reaper22_ Yes, the Last of Us Part II and Horizon Zero Dawn both got the remaster treatment -it worked for me as it was the first time I played TLOUII! And Silent Hill 2... And Lego Bloody Horizon!

But the PS5 did receive some high profile console exclusives including Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Black Myth: Wukong and Astro Bot.

So Reaper22_ yes you can say the Sony community got some leftovers! Do not mistake that for being starving.
This year the PlayStation community will be eating third party games, Sony first party games and Microsoft former-exclusives. They're not starving, if anything they are getting super fat, they will need Ozempic.

(*And before any Xbox haters try and say the Xbox Series X never had any true console exclusives in 2024 it did, it had games like Hellblade II: Senua's Saga, Towerborne and Flight Simulator 2024.)

No different then PS fans back during the PS4 days hootin and hollering every time Sony announce their showcase.

Sony shows were some of the best gaming events around so I understand. These days it seems like MS kills it at these events (finally) after decade and a half of false promises, plus they'll be 1st party multiplats for PS and Switch 2. Everyone gets to play.

Yeah buy literally buying two publishers where the Bethesda event rolls into their own as well as the deep dive Activision Call of Duty shows.

Also because Sony and Nintendo don't really do traditional shows at E3 and the fact EA never has enough to fill up their own show everyone just decides to hop onto Microsofts show with it being the only big one out there now. Geoff apparently charges a fortune to get things shown at Summer Games Fest so it's probably better to show it at Microsofts where more eyes are on it.

Of course at this point with all that factored in they "win" by default. It's like a mini E3 third party show in ways.

You'll have to ask Sony and Nintendo why they're not doing a showcases. Well maybe not so much Nintendo now with the whole. Stick to the Switch if you can't afford the Switch 2. Don Mattrick levels of bad. Sony will do a traditional showcase again when they get their first party back in order. It was said they were considering doing a showcase this year but we have to wait and see if they decide to do one or not.

Geoffs Summer gamefest's are a joke imo. It's nothing but Indies, nothing wrong wrong Indies but it seems it's mostly Indie content being shown. The small guy's wanna pay that much then let them I suppose.

If I remember ppl deemed MS the "winner" for the past 4 years simply because they're the only ones showing up. 2021 was horrendous. Nobody showed up and games that did get announced or showed was DLC, Indie or a concept of a new AAA that's years aways. By default Xbox was seen as the winner even if their show wasn't that great either.

Anyway would be nice to see Sony do a showcase. Though Marathon will get shown off this Saturday. Fairgames said to be out next year now. Ghost 2, GoW spin off, maybe show gameplay for Wolverine, 3rd party stuff. As I said we'll see if Sony if Sony confirms a showcase or not.

It's kind of cool seeing playstation gamers interested in xbox games. I'm liking this trend now that the "console wars" are over. All 3 camps can enjoy the conference and hopefully find something to look forward to.

Well that was fast. Very fast. Hell when you own everything they don't do last minute scrambles like they use to do.

It's digital only again. Sick of this digital only events. I want a stage with hands on presentations like they use to do back then. Real time gameplay. Maybe the controller runs out of juice? Maybe the game glitches out? It's real and it's raw a bit funny but it's genuine.

I know, I know. The internet now isn't the internet of the 2000's or early 2010's. A single frame skip and the internet would call It trash and bad, I get it. I just miss the old ways of doing things.
