breath of the wold and tears of the kingdom are .. oddly missing.

i wonder whyyy

got_dam68d ago

Nooooo. Nintendo wouldn't force it's customers to by a (probably more expensive) new version of their most popular games to get the new gen benefits... never.

gold_drake68d ago (Edited 68d ago )

nintendo?
noooo wuuuuuut, no way haha

Cacabunga66d ago

What’s the cost of this upgrade?

Armyofdarkness67d ago (Edited 67d ago )

Both Zelda games switch 2 edition is included in Nintendo Online Expansion Pack when Switch 2 launches.

I'm pretty excited to see what was done to Mario Odyssey

Kosic67d ago

Probably just a frame rate increase

Levii_9266d ago

But.. it already ran perfect, it ran at 60fps? We don't need an fps boost for that game we need a resolution and image quality boost.

DefaultComment66d ago

a framrate and a upscale of resolution and we good.

MrBaskerville66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

If it's free, it's probably just basic stuff like resolution and whatever fps benefits new hardware provides.

When they charge, they probably put slightly more effort in, like more work done to visuals than just upscaling. Atleast I hope that's the case.

Kosic67d ago (Edited 67d ago )

The top down zelda games ran like ass on the switch, stuttering frame rates on links awakening. So the free update will hopefully fix this issue and make it more playable. I doubt it'll be any sort of real improvement.

Where as the tears of the kingdom and botw will probably get an upscale to 1080p and 30/60fps modes, and maybe some additional content for its cost.

Profchaos67d ago

Yeah echos also struggled in similar scenarios to links awakening

I actually am looking forward to switch 2 to finish my playthrough of echos

VileBrute66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

Been said it will be I believe 4k 60fps hdr upgrades on both. Don't mind ten bucks for the work done on them tbh. On tears and breath I mean of course.

--Onilink--66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

It technically wasn’t really stuttering, but a terrible implementation of vsync (double buffer), so any fps drop would just take it (by design) to 30fps from 60.

Just removing that vsync and letting the game run normally should be more than enough to correct them, especially with VRR in play, though you would also assume that it will likely run at a locked 60 anyway if it can use some of the extra performance of the S2

As for BotW and TotK, pixel counting of the demos had them running at a native 1440p / 60fps, though I guess we still need to wait for the final product to see if it changes or if they had a higher fps mode (like in Prime and Kart)

OhReginald67d ago

I dont why I was expecting a huge list....lmfao oh boy...

originaljohn66d ago

I expect over time this list will grow. Games like Xenoblade, fire emblem and luigi's mansion are missing

DefaultComment66d ago

they will come, just be patient.

RedDevils66d ago

Yeah make sure to bring your wallet.

PRIMORDUS67d ago

Doesn't mean I will play them again.

Ashwood Valley Review - Thumb Culture

"Ashwood Valley is a new cosy farming game, developed and published by RedDeer.Games and released on June 5th for the Nintendo Switch. Plant crops, befriend animals and work towards saving your sibling, who has been turned into a cat. I played it on the Switch as well as Switch 2 and can confirm that the game runs well on both of them." Charlie @ Thumb Culture
