Metroid Prime 4 supports mouse aiming with the new and revamped Joy-Cons on Switch 2.
The final Nintendo Switch 1 Direct just gave us our best look yet at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond—and it’s stunning. But here’s the big question: Is this actually a Switch 2 game? Join the NVC crew as they break down the new trailer, analyze Samus’ psychic abilities and the jungle planet Viewros, and debate whether this is a cross-gen release or a last-minute upgrade for Nintendo’s next console.Plus, we’ll discuss why Metroid Prime 4’s long development cycle (and lack of a release date) has us suspicious. Is Nintendo holding it back for the Switch 2? Or is this truly the Switch 1’s final masterpiece?
Metroid prime 4 looks so dated and bland. I hate it when fanatics can't be objective because it sends the wrong message about what's good so Nintendo continues down the same wrong path. The short gameplay of metroid I've seen is enough to convince me that the game is rubbish and not worth full price. Im hoping Nintendo doesn't continue with low quality and bland looking games for the switch 2 and only relying on games brand name to sell. The switch 2 is a new generation where it's possible to have very powerful handhelds or midrange handhelds that can handle modern games with very good performance. Switch 2 shouldn't have games that resemble switch 1 games or even have performance issues like switch 1. I've seen a lot of games on ps3 that looks a lot better than metroid prime 4 and the ps3 was released 20 years ago.
It's not a Switch 2 game it's a Switch 1 game. It will be a cross gen game like BOTW was. Switch 2 version will have better framerate, resolution and texture filtering.
I wasn't really excited by the trailer editing and no solid date given but the gameplay looks great and environments look super atmospheric. Retro doing wonders on the Switch again.
"it's stunning"
LOL the bar is really REALLY low for Nintendo. Stunning, sure...for 2010!
Following the major video game showcase reveals over the last weeks, games like Astro Bot and Doom: The Dark Ages are highly sought-after.
I went from being unexcited about anything that wasn't GTA vi to having a fully stocked end of the year especially after that direct
Xbox has a ton of games lined up. I was hoping more would be coming to PS5 but I think I’m going to finally subscribe to PC Game Pass since no matter what, it will still be a better deal. If MS makes a handheld, I’ll buy a console, if not I’ll play on PC.
IGN asked tech experts Digital Foundry to analyse the Metroid Prime 4 gameplay footage to get the definitive answer.
If this is the original Switch, I can only imagine how good it will look on the Switch 2. You know if the game is launching in 2025, there will be both a Switch & Switch 2 version!
They are using the same engine they used to do the MP remaster. I was kind of hoping they do 2 & 3 in the same engine before releasing 4.
Of course it is. 🙄 Nothing about that trailer screamed not possible on the Switch. They took what they learned from the Ptime Switch port and improved upon it. This is the results.
i did notice that nothing at the xbox event had a sign that said, the footage was captured from an xbox
they both mysteriously left this information out
Its not really that amazing looking in any of scenes. Its great, and looks like a switch game with a 10 years matured engine from the last prime release. Nothing more, and that's fine.
i wonder how well thats gonna work.
The world's most uncomfortable mouse lol
I been asking this for long time and nintendo is about to make all fps a mouse standard game, I hope
It can be played like a real PC shooter when you’ll soon be able to emulate it on an actual PC lol
They just copied lenovo go handheld system.
