Almost All the UK's Boxed Copies of Assassin's Creed Shadows Sold on PS5 Last Week

The UK's latest physical games chart is here, and Assassin's Creed Shadows is still top of the pile.

It's number one for the second week in a row, with 84 per cent of the boxed copies sold being the PS5 version.

While this is only physical sales in one country, it's clear the game is performing well for Ubisoft — a much needed win after a rocky 2024. In terms of digital sales, the game is reportedly killing it on PS Store, too.

I see what you are saying about the PC audience, but I am not comparing it to mass market live service stuff.

I am looking at it compared to things like Atomic Heart, and it seems to have had a much smaller launch than that game.

For whatever reason, the marketing for Atomfall just doesn't seem to have worked.

Is it good? It looked excellent from the trailers I saw! It looked like a better version of the modern fallout games. New Vegas and F3 some of my absolute favorites.

Sure... because we are talking about AC but the fact that PS5 is dominating physical game sales so hard can only be blamed on MS' GP strategy. Overally its harmful to the industry if consumers stop buying games.

Even then, I'm not so sure that's correct. There's a lot of convenience that comes with a digital purchase, yet PlayStation has been alright with physical sales. I tend to think people are pretty sick of subscriptions

Well, PSPlus numbers are actually higher than gamepass numbers.

Also, the tier that allows you to play the few “day one” games per year that release by MS 1st party costs $20/month and PSPlus does not offer such a tier. So it might be unfair to act like all xbox gamepass subscribers are getting games day one. Not to mention that paying 20/month may not be worth it to get (a couple?) of “day one” games per year.

More meia shilling for this POS game how mamy COPIES? 17,000 like in all of japan lol yeah great job. Everyone with half a brain knows this is a copy paste ubi game I've seen countless bugs while playing, bad writing, bad voice acting same stupid missions over and over. BORING oh lets not forget its steam numbers 48,000 high with most being ppl buying ubi + for one month then right away cancelling the rebill like me and at least 4 ppl I know.
