This is not what the article is talking about. They're talking about the $90 edition that is $15 more than the $75 edition that includes all DLC. The $90 edition is merely paying $15 to play the game 5 days earlier for a game that isn't brand new and has been available for over 3 years now. Sony has not done that.

See, what you're doing here is taking a swipe at other games that are ports which aren't even being discussed here. The whole topic is about paying an extra $15 for early access of an a port of a game that's been playable on both Xbox and PC since 2021.

Sony gives you the option to upgrade these games for $10 if you own them already. Does Xbox do that? Say Elder Scrolls 4 gets their rumoured re-release do you see them doing the $10 to upgrade? Because I don't forsee that happening.

Nintendo also does a lot of re-released and I've not seen them give the option to pay to upgrade either.

Don't preorder any game, for that matter. Why do you need to preorder games? Spoiler alert - you don't, publishers want to get preorder numbers up for investors, but it doesn't benefit you. I would even say, high preorders were the reason for «Release it now and fix it later» mentality among the publishers and we all know how "great" that was.

People be dealing with FOMO. I personally would never pay more money to just play 2-3 days early when I can save that money and use towards my next game. I will preorder physical copy of a game if I want to support the dev team (like Clair Obscur) or a first party game that I am really looking forward to (Ghost of Yotei), but I will still not pay extra to have 72 hours early access.

The only time that I would ever preorder a game is if some exclusive preorder content was included in the preorder, and the price was still the same as me buying the game day one. If you were already going to buy the game for $69.99 (for example) on day one, and you could get some extra cosmetics/content just for buying the preorder a few days earlier, why wouldn’t you?

The answer to both is easy, as it wouldn't be coming to PS5 for any other reason THAN a failure to sell enough games between PC and Xbox to be sustainable. This isn't a charity. It's coming to PS5 because that fanbase buys games. Many, many, many more games than the Xbox fanbase.

What does any company do with good sales? Sequel or a new game and health of the studio. Every game is going multiplatform. Indy did well and is going on PS5 soon also. Why? What else money, that 70B$ won't pay off itself and as I mentioned studio health. Devs don't give a damn about fanboy wars that care about getting paid, supporting themselves and supporting the teams and studios.

Well, I didn’t give “bad info”. It is a fact that Microsoft is putting their games on PS5 to leverage them. Their hardware isn’t doing it on its own, otherwise we wouldn’t be here today.

Now, what IS relevant? In this business, you put your exclusive, tentpole franchises on your nearest/strongest rival's platform (see SGEA) when yours is no longer able to sustain them on its own, hindering the life of said platform. Microsoft is now coming to terms with that.

What makes Nintendo and PlayStation consoles so successful is sell power. Both brands have a history of HUGE sellers, be they exclusive/3rd Party, etc. Microsoft saw the writing on the wall, admitted defeat, and is now seeking those platforms to bring new life to its flagship franchises. A smart business move.

Typical M$ offering FOMO early access for a game that’s years old, this tells you everything you need to know.

To that point, it is likely that the lowest amount of dollars possible were spent porting this and optimizing it. These greedy corpo’s aren’t even offering a physical release so they can control the price and it keeps costs down too.

If this runs flawlessly on PS5 and Pro and takes advantage of Dualsense I’ll be shocked—but also still not paying full price for a release so old and definitely not preordering. All M$ releases come in hot and buggy day one on their own console.

I do recognize it is possible this will be a great port—it is M$’s only shot at a first impression for a Sony port. Do they care? It will be hilarious and SO M$ if they do F it up, get your popcorn ready, this should be an easy slam dunk for them but all M$ does it blow the layup.

Still, I’ll be voting with my wallet and likely playing this around the holidays when it’s fully patched and half price.

Personally I love Forza Horizon. It and Gran Turismo together cover all the racing needs you can have. Arcade and Sim. That being said… there’s no way in hell I think PlayStation gamers should pay full price for this. I had this at launch for my Series X. I think this is to try and gouge PlayStation gamers to try and make up for Xbox division losses. I personally hope the game is passed on until it’s a severely price dropped. It’s an excellent game and I love it, but this is ridiculously priced.

I had F5,6,7 and MS deleted them from my library so they could sold me the absolute garbage Forza 2023. If you don't know this because you're on PS5, basically every few years they shut down the servers for previous Forza games and force you to buy the next game in the series. Despite all the DLC you might've own, all the hours you spent on the games you paid for, they are deleted from your library and from the store. Its scummy, greedy and it made me hate MS and the Forza devs now. So if you plan on buying FH5 just keep this in mind especially since there is no physical edition. Idk if MS has a deal with Sony to keep FH5 permanently on the PS store but I wouldn't be too surprise if in 3yrs it gets delisted and the game becomes unplayable as the servers are shut down
