So wait, PlayStation has 1800 cloud games? Doesn't Xbox have about 400? Surprisde to hear that with all the noise Xbox makes about cloud gaming.

Next someone is going to tell me that PSN plus has more games than Gamepass

MS has only done a better job at hyping themselves up on the whole cloud streaming thing but SONY beat em to the punch all the way back during the PS3 gen. Literally everything MS has hyped up has already been a thing on PS for years. Crossbuy, remote play, cloud streaming, streaming in general has always been better on PS I think. It's funny how despite their push for TV/Streaming last gen, SONY had it all and more without the fuzz.

GeekAffinity87d ago

I wish Sony would have leaned more into the CrossBuy/CrossSave aspect when the Vita was still around...Unfortunately most games that had a CrossSave feature between PS4/Vita required you to buy both versions to take advantage of transferring between the 2 consoles.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Go compare what both cloud service offers.

In fairness it does have double the amount. I can't tell if you were joking there. If you were my bad 😂

Exvalos87d ago

More games and it has better games.

Reaper22_87d ago (Edited 87d ago )

"Unfortunately, these purchasable PlayStation cloud games can only currently be played on an actual PS5."

On xbox you can play on multiple devices and controllers including dual sense.

There you go.

Bathyj86d ago

But I want to play on ps5. Why is that hard to understand?

Apparently when you buy Xbox games you get them to play on everything but an Xbox.

MrBaskerville87d ago

It's also secretly pretty good by now.

MDTunkown87d ago

Pretty much every new game released now has cloud functionality

Sony has some impressive streaming tech

AirRevenant86d ago

It all comes from OnLive's tech originally, sony bought it. That was a pretty awesome service even before sony got to it.

tinchotin87d ago

How can you "purchase" games to play on cloud? As far as I know, there is only just a fixed catalog.

MDTunkown87d ago

If you buy a game, you can stream it without downloading it.

MetroidFREAK2187d ago

Why would I want to buy cloud versions of games?

Deathdeliverer87d ago

You can also download the games. For example, every game that is streaming capable that has a demo can be streamed too. I just stream games that I am trying. If I decide I’ll buy it, I determine if I will download it. (Is this something I’ll do share screen for? You can’t stream AND share screen. You CAN stream and play online though.)

MDTunkown87d ago

You don’t buy the cloud version, it’s just when you buy digital version you now can download it to your console or stream it

Both systems will be great. But their fans.......................... ............................... ............................... ............................... ............................... ............................... ...........

thrust4233d ago

Are the Sony people still saying that cod is 720p on the xbox one?

Mr_Writer854233d ago (Edited 4233d ago )

@Thrust

Are you able to read English yet? Or are you still claming that Eurogamer saying its 1080p months ago is still right?

B-radical4233d ago

ehhh both sony and xbox fanboys are as bad as each other #dealwithit aha

On topic i prefer the x1 lineup atm

Ihaka4233d ago

From what I read on this sight I've actually noticed that Xbox fanboys are a lot more aggressive over the keyboard.

Not sure if frustrated at weaker console or MS trust issues...

MiHX24233d ago

*But their fanboys..........Are just some PINGASES in the A$$.

BallsEye4233d ago (Edited 4233d ago )

LOl...driveclub is not a launch title, it was pushed back to 2014, so did watchgods.

Also get your specs right. XO has system memory bandwidth peak of 272 GB/s not 68 lol. Link where TF's were actually revealed and confirmed? On top of that XO has NO REGION LOCK. Internet is not required to play on XO...so much wrong and biased info it's unbelievable. Who the hell aprooved it?? N4g is a really sad place these days.

morganfell4233d ago

The article missed the mark on quite a few facts for both systems.

chrissx4233d ago

Lol drive club aint a launch title no more. My Anticipation of Ps4 got me feeling like a lil kid again :3

lxBlack_Venomxl4233d ago (Edited 4233d ago )

You know what would be awesome?
Cross Platform from Ps4 to Xbox
So all those people who talk trash who is better can go at it. I would destroy Xbox players >:)

thrust4233d ago

The ps4 would have to use azure for this to happen on most games

BallsEye4233d ago (Edited 4233d ago )

Bring it on brother! ;p

ceejaa4233d ago

there hardware is so similar i would imagibe it being possible. Microsoft and sony I doubt would let that happen.

Why ‘Greatness Awaits’ Would Actually be a Really Terrible Slogan

GenGAME writes: "I don’t know if that rumored “Greatness Awaits” slogan is real, or if it’s really for PS4 or actually for Destiny. I do know, however, that it rubs me the wrong way.

"I can actually understand the appeal: latch on to the term “greatness,” which seems to now be a synonym for “awesome” in the colloquial sense rather in the “fear of God” sense, and tie it forever to the PlayStation brand. I get it. It’s a cool campaign.

"But the more I think about it, the more I think about where PS4 is headed and about past PlayStation launches and some of the blunders they’ve faced, the more I worry that it’s the wrong message."

ltachiUchiha4399d ago (Edited 4399d ago )

I disagree, I think its really catchy & fits sony well. Just my opinion but they earned it.

legendoflex

I just think its clear that sony is obviously all for gamers first & other things after & they are only keeping their fanbase amped for whats to come and that is, "GREATNESS" which to me means amazing games and they are proving that even in the last few years of the ps3's life span. Thats how I look at it.

legendoflex4399d ago

It's satire, in case you couldn't tell!

JoGam4399d ago (Edited 4399d ago )

The Slogan can changed at anytime. Greatness Awaits doesn't have to be the slogan for the years. It can just be enough of a slogan for Sony to launch a system and to get the ball rolling into the next generation of gaming. Greatness Awaits can just be a Slogan for a marketing campaign. Once its over the Slogan will change.

shoddy4399d ago

How could greatness be terrible?

LAWSON724399d ago (Edited 4399d ago )

As great as sony is they have not earned the title. What have they done this gen that is so great? I have a ps3, 360, and pc, and the only thing the ps3 has is exclusives which most are far from great (a few great exclusives are mgs4, valkyria chronicles, and littlebigplanet). Its online is improving and has great deals (only if you pay $50) but xbox live and steam have quicker load times for example comparing trophies/achievements. They have much more features that for some improve the platform like party chat.

The only thing that playstation has ever done that is great is actually trying to cater to core gamers (which is probably only because they can use it as an edge over nintendo and ms), and of course the ps1 and 2 are trully amazing. I guess bluray was a good move and gave them an advantage over the xbox. It is a disappointment and far from being great like their past consoles. They have lost their title of being great, but maybe greatness will await because i have not seen it since the ps2.

GalacticEmpire4399d ago

This might have been funny if something 'awaiting' didn't mean something waiting for you and not you waiting for something. OK, I'm not sure I worded this comment too well but you know what I mean right?

legendoflex4399d ago

"Await" can mean "to be in store."

The thing about "Greatness Awaits" is that it always implies greatness is in the future.

GalacticEmpire4399d ago (Edited 4399d ago )

Maybe but in the context of 'Greatness Awaits' it suggest that greatness is waiting for you and not the other way around.

I think if it said 'waiting for greatness' this article would make more sense.

Irishguy954399d ago

That is the point...It is waiting for you..to come and buy it...

GalacticEmpire4399d ago

It won't have to wait long.

Max-Zorin4399d ago

Next gen greatness awaits. And at at the same time, chaos from the fanboys on all sides awaits.

Game0N4399d ago

wow it never ceases to amaze me. these talent-less journalists latch on to just about anything to spread bad press about it. On a rumored slogan? Are you kidding me? Is is that slow of a news week? smh

Fergusonxplainsall4399d ago (Edited 4399d ago )

Even if the slogan was " i love lamp" , i would still buy the PS4.

The rumored slogan makes the "wait" even harder to bare..:D

PlayStation Cloud Just Might Be Sony’s Secret Sauce This Generation

GenGAME writes: "Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida told the Guardian that one of their dreams for Gaikai’s new “PlayStation Cloud” concept is to turn it into the ultimate streaming service that gives players instant access to thousands of games.

"It’s a bold idea, isn’t it? Sony has already commented that this functionality could be used to achieve backward compatibility with PSone, PS2, and PS3 games – compatibility that’s absent on a physical media level – but I think it has potential to be much, much more. Leveraged correctly, PlayStation Cloud could ensure Sony’s supreme domination by freeing a wide variety of console games so that they’re playable on any device."

LessThan2Tflops4473d ago (Edited 4473d ago )

I wish Sony would just tell us what would happen to our digital content, would gaikai play the digital games I already own? Do I have to pay again? Would gaikai work at launch? After 1 year? After 2 years?

Jobesy4473d ago (Edited 4473d ago )

I agree, but conferences only last a couple hours. The reveal on the 22nd was necessary to not take away time from E3. Sony has Vita, PS3, PSN and now Gakai and PS4 to cover. It's going to happen that specifics get left out. Too little time, too much info. Besides that, the release of PS4 is months away, I'm sure there are a lot of details to iron out with IP owners, publishers, etc before games can be streamed from Gakai. Many IPs aren't Sony's to do with whatever they want, including giving you cloud access to games eventhough you already bought it. There are some greedy companies like SE that will want you to pay again for that FF game.

GribbleGrunger4473d ago

We know that we'll be able to try any game before we buy, so doesn't that give us a huge hint for what to expect? I can see no problem at all for an algorithm to detect whether you originally bought that game and extend that trial to a full playthough.

DigitalRaptor4473d ago (Edited 4473d ago )

If they announce that your purchased digital PS3/PS2/PS1 content is freely playable through Gaikai connectivity, that would be awesome. Sure, I'd still need to be connected to play them, but it would save booting up PS3 as much as I would without it.

I'm really looking forward to the streaming and "instant access", "zero barrier" entry to playing games on PS4, as much as the games themselves. I just hope our ISPs are ready for all of this!
