With another generous set of remasters, we finally have the complete inaugural generation of a PlayStation icon. The ports aren't perfect, but a generous selection of modern options balance out the imperfections of Tomb Raider: Last Revelation and its sequel Chronicles. Having The Angel Of Darkness in a good enough state to revisit might be worth the price alone.
Ben reviews Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered; a collection of black sheep within the Tomb Raider series that you shouldn't miss out on.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered blends nostalgia with enhanced visuals and updated controls. Is that enough to warrant a purchase?
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is easy to recommend for both fans of the original games and those whose introduction to Lara Croft came much later on. Its age-related annoyances are easy enough to forgive, and being able to quicksave at any time is a real lifesaver. It’s amazing what was done here in a year, and I’m sure further improvements are still to come. These are important games that deserve to be remembered and preserved, and these remasters are the best way to play them in the modern age.
It's cool they made this. But every single game featured are games made by a studio that *really* wanted to kill off Lara Croft to avoid ever doing another sequel. And I think it's felt in the product.
