The Outerhaven says: A rumor that is now a possibility, Xbox could be working on a handheld in a few years, but our gaming and tech reporter isn't convinced that an Xbox handheld device should become a thing.
Keiichiro Toyama—the creator and original director of the 1999 Silent Hill—shared his personal thoughts on the recently announced remake by Konami, reflecting on what the project means to him after more than two decades:
“I felt something similar when the game was adapted into a movie. It deeply moved me to see the names of the characters and locations I had created come to life visually, even though I wasn’t directly involved. That wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of the fans and the dedication of the developers who’ve kept the series alive.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how the remake evolves this time. With the advanced technology we now have, I’m sure I’ll be surprised by how the game is reimagined. Since the original was built for the first PlayStation, there will naturally be challenges—like the camera and controls—but I’m eager to see bold and creative solutions to those elements.”
Haha Not only is bold and creatively not what the industry wants, it’s not what most people want.
They want to get scammed and pay twice for a thing they already own.
Was the SH2 remake even bold? Or was it more or less just a 1 to 1 over the shoulder remake?
2026 will mark the 25th anniversary of Xbox, and Phil Spencer has teased it as a "really special year" for the games division.
They going to be a he best and biggest publisher on Xbox, Playstation and PC next year. They not really said anything about Switch 2 though spite claiming to be big supporters.
It will be, his net work will hit 50 million and he plans to buy a new mansion in Cape Cod. Thanks everyone! #failup
Xbox Game Studios' Halo: Combat Evolved Remake is reportedly planned to release in late 2026 to celebrate 25 years of Xbox.
They coulda started with Halo 3 remake ... I know Halo CE remaster was not proper with the art style but still, remaking after a remaster seems dull, when Halo 3 and Reach have started to show some age.
When Nintendo announced the Switch, lots of people predicted doom and gloom for the company (especially after the Wii U).
When VALVE announced the STEAM Deck, lots of people predicted doom and gloom for the company (especially after the STEAM Machines failed project).
Now it´s MS turn.
Technically.... they already did. People dont realize the Logitech G-Cloud is an officially licensed product and was promoted on the Xbox website.

Problem is, that was still not their own product. So they are looking at doing something more in house.
I think Handhelds should be as much open as possible, meaning you should install on them what you want.
From retro games to modern titles as the hardware goes.
Having another closed handheld is not appealing to me... at all.
Maybe because I'm not into Xbox ecosystem... but who would be, giving the fact that every screen is an Xbox at this point.
Only benefit would be a less bloated and compact windows. Which would be very beneficial actually for those who mostly game on PC or is tired of how sluggish windows be with all the AI spyware.
