Xbox Developer Direct Games Are Getting PS5 Pro Enhancements

DOOM: The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are set to receive enhancement boosts when they launch on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Both titles will benefit from the extra polish and power possessed by the latest iteration of Sony’s console. The PS5 Pro offers a slate of hardware advantages over the base PS5, including higher frame rates, better rendering capabilities, and enhanced overall performance.

This is entirely incorrect. The games are mandated to SUPPORT the PS5 Pro, NOT have Pro enhancements.

It only needs to be able to be playable on PS5 Pro. Not get PS5 Pro features or enhancements.

the only mandate I can think of is with the xbox, and that all games must be able to play on the series s as well. imagine gta 6 running on that gimped machine.

It’s optional, hence why not all games releasing are PS5 Pro enhanced.

I agree, it would be stupid to buy any console just to play one game. That's why I personally bought PS5 Pro, so I can enhance every game I play. Games that to me have been "unplayable" is now playable, like FFXIV, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Callisto Protocol to name a few.

Awesome ! So now I am definitely going to buy a PS5 Pro. Still on PS4 currently. Been waiting for DOOM Dark Ages release date which is May 15 to buy a PS5 Pro .Hopefully Sony will have a sale or a pack in game for PS5 Pro before DOOM D.A. is released.

awesome. so like 100 people will get to see that. im sorry but even the tho the ps5 pro is good hardware, it should have just been the ps5, period. I did the mid-cycle refreshes last time... not worth it. if you really care that much about framerate and resolution, break free from the cycle and just get a pc. all the people playing these games on PC get all that too - without the AI trickery.

I would use my PC more if I could buy physical games. That's the difference. Far far cheaper overall on the physical route vs my PC. (At least 500 a year personally for me if not more)

If someone wants to launch a PS5 title that was not in the pre PS5 official list of development, the game has to use a PS5 Pro compatible SDK. That's simple... but it is also mandatory to use certain version of the PlayStation DSK if you want to publish a game. Older versions of PlayStation SDKs have no support, so developers have to update their systems if the want to publish. BTW, titles are published with a more than one year old Sony SDK versions, so this will not take full effect for some titles to be published in 2025. It does not affect only indie devs, but big publishers with long dev processes that maintain outdated systems and software (because of bad planification or not enough inversion).
Resume: To use an updated PlayStation SDK does not give any great enhanced for PS5 Pro magically. It only helps in the compatibility side. Improvements are a one by one process.
