I love Doom and think this one looks good but does anyone think this one looks a lot slower compared to Doom 2016 and Eternal?

For me Doom was never about protecting myself or deflecting hits with a shield so I'm quite confused at the choice here especially with a lot more focus on melee weapons. Even the glory kills seemed non-existent and a step back from the previous ones.

This definitely looks slower (less frantic!) than the other two games.
To me, it plays a lot more like GoW, plus guns.

Depends what you prefer ...

They said in the video @3:10, they approached with 3 different styles for the 3 different modern Doom games. (well if you count Doom 3, then that's 4 different styles).
They said, Run n Gun, Jump n Shoot, and this time Stand n Fight (for Doom3 I include: Panic n Shoot)
And this time, there are sliders, of which one slider even lets you alter the whole speed of the game.

It's not like they're super consistent with the gameplay in modern Doom games, I remember trying to play Eternal like 2016 at first and just getting steam rolled by enemies. Some people also found Eternal too overwhelming and hard, even though I finished it and the DLC, I would agree that the game can get very overwhelming at times.

It looks like they do have the Glory Kill system in some capacity, looking at this video, it's not as gory as the other games, but the enemies are dropping health and ammo after some kills, so I don't think they've completely done away with the system.

This is more Gothic Quake I than Doom1 or doom'16
...
Can't they just reboot Quake with this same art style but abit grittier & with a new Gothic storyline ~all while being run on idtech 8

?

2 second google. $70.

KwietStorm_BLM121d ago

That's what it said when it went live. Now it's listed at 70.

On Steam it’s still $80 for me, or at least the currency equivalent of $80

It does show $70 on the Xbox store, so it might be a mistake

$109 Aussie dollars, argh, that's a little painful, but I really enjoyed the last two Doom games.
