Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Release Date and System Requirements

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a critically acclaimed action-adventure game from Insomniac, following the adventures of Peter Parker and Miles Morales. And now, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is about to be released on PC.

I think this is a perfect release schedule (about 12-15 months) from PS to PC. It helps keeps PS hardware relevant while still enjoying sales from the PC-only fanbase.

The consumer-friendly gamer-first spin should be so that the PC version is polished and optimized properly for the platform. I am confident that is the true reason, too - Nixxes is only so big and can only handle so many projects at one time.

It should never be for the sake of gatekeeping software just to keep certain hardware relevant. Especially where layoffs are so prone to happen, as we saw at studios like Insomniac despite the records they shattered with Spider-Man 2.

"It should never be for the sake of gatekeeping software just to keep certain hardware relevant."

For a hardware manufacturer, it certainly should be about keeping your product relevant. What else are they in business for?

I did say "consumer-friendly gamer-first" not "go go corpo!"

"What else are they in business for?"

Gee, they have the quickest selling title in PlayStation's history with Spider-Man 2, then still laid people off a month or two later, across PS Studios as a whole and at Insomniac!

So I don't know, what would you say, where the *best in history* still immediately results in firings?

How do you take my original comment about PS to PC release schedule helping a hardware/electronics manaufacturer keep their product relevant, and my second comment alluding to the same thing, and twist the debate into how people are getting laid off? What does that have to do with any of my comments?

But since you want to talk about layoffs, you do know that the entire industry is laying people off regardless of how well they are performing, right? Doesn't MS/Xbox constantly hype up how well they are doing revenue-wise? Aren't they still laying people off?

"The official system requirements for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are yet to be revealed, but here is what is generally expected for them to be"

So this article is fake news?

TheColbertinator91d ago

lol exactly. Where did they dig up their numbers too?

This is straight up spam

"Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account)" Actually you don't need that shit on PC 🏴‍☠️😂

Expected System Requirements
The official system requirements for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are yet to be revealed, but here is what is generally expected for them to be:

Minimum:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-8600K
RAM: 8GB
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 / Nvidia GeForce RTX 1060 (6GB VRAM)
Storage: 75GB SSD required

Recommended:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X / Intel Core i7-12700
RAM: 16GB
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT / Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 (8GB VRAM)
Storage: 75GB SSD required

Those numbers are insane. A Ryzen 7 5800x is too much for this type of game. Even the Rx 6800 is also a bit much. That GPU rivals the compute power of the PS5 Pro. Not many gamers on PC will be able to meet the recommended requirements. Steam deck and other handheld gamers are of luck.

Hopefully the official numbers will be more reasonable.

I expect it to be around the specs of the recently released God of War Ragnarok. See below

minimum requirements
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 5500 XT
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K or Ryzen 3 1200
File Size: 190 GB
OS: Windows 10

recommended specs
Memory: 16 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER or Radeon RX 5700
CPU: Intel Core i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 3600
File Size: 190 GB
OS: up to Windows 11
