WTMG's Leo Faria: "As previously mentioned, I don’t even think this is Aspyr’s fault. Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is just a terrible game at its core, so all the polishing treatment in the world wouldn’t have fixed its many, MANY problems. It’s a clunky, hilariously ugly, and poorly designed beat ’em up which, at times, feels so janky and unpolished, it almost becomes a funny experience. I guess I finally know why this game has always vanished from my subconscious during my Star Wars retro gaming sprees. I think I was just being spared from the torture."
Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is an improved version of an average game that somehow still manages to be fun despite its significant flaws, especially when played with a friend. A quarter of a century after it was first released, it still has a certain charm. It’s unlikely to win many new fans, but if you have fond childhood memories of playing it when you were a Padawan, perhaps now is the time to embrace the Force and master it…
There's just enough polished jank and weirdness in Jedi Power Battles to make it a worthwhile nostalgic trip
MonsterVIne: "Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles brings nostalgic charm and fun extras, but dated gameplay and frustrating mechanics hold it back."
