Retailer Leak Reveals New 3D Super Mario and Zelda Remake for Nintendo Switch 2

A new 3D Super Mario game and a Zelda remake are rumored for Nintendo Switch 2, alongside Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Come on Ocarina, Majora's Mask or Link to the Past.

Neonridr117d ago

I couldn't tell from the article, but the way of the wording sounds like a remake / remaster of the original Legend of Zelda for the NES. That would be pretty awesome if true.

DodoDojo117d ago

Yeah that would be cool too.

Just not claymation this time, please ✌️ Love the art style but it takes the more serious games and makes them too colourful I feel.

I hope they remake Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass at some point .. two unpopular gems

RaiderNation116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

I just hope it's not in the same art style as Link's Awakening/Echoes of Wisdom. I want it to be more ambitious than that. Not a glorified mobile style game.

Neonridr116d ago

@RaiderNation - on one hand I could see them opting for that simply because of the style of the game and how that visual style would work well with it.

I don't see them doing a full on BOTW style treatment if they are remaking the 1st game. Ideally it would work better as a "looking down" style.

to me, more Zelda is never a bad thing.

RaiderNation116d ago (Edited 116d ago )

I guess, but if they're looking for something to push sales of new/more powerful hardware, a top down game isn't exactly something to do that. I'm not necessarily wanting an open world BOTW style game, but something in the vein of Twilight Princess would be great!

Its been more than 20 years since i had a Nintendo console, if they remake Majora's Mask and keep the dark atmosphere, i would buy the console and the game day one.

OmegaSoldati116d ago

But Windwaker still looks great. Majora, Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild are the ones i like. I played them in a friends house. Yeah i still have that in my country

Goodguy01117d ago

Yeah... that'll definitely make the switch 2 hit close or more than switch 1 in its first year if these were to be launch or close to launch games. Mario Kart 9 would make it for sure.

repsahj116d ago

Hoping for a new 3D Super Mario game on NS2 launch, just like what they did on Switch.

Neonridr116d ago

Odyssey came 7 months after the Switch released. BOTW was a launch game.

Smellsforfree116d ago

It is thought of as launching along-side the Switch, especially considering it came out before the first holiday season.

Smellsforfree116d ago

Basically the only thing I would be immediately interested in and motivate me towards a purchase would be a new 3d Mario game.

Levii_92116d ago

Damn imagine if all of this is true and Sliksong as a launch title or at the very least a NS2 exclusive that will launch in the same year. Nintendo has won. I don't even know what they won but hey goddamn WON son.

gold_drake116d ago

i dont mind this at all, ive always wanted more zelda remakes that are not 3ds games ha
