Splitgate 2 is following the same path as XDefiant, fighting an endurance battle with Call of Duty as the new CoD Killer. Will it last?
An astounding misinterpretation of the creators quote. This isn't a "CoD-killer". Splitgate plays nothing like CoD. The dev doesn't even say he's trying to compete with CoD, and in fact it's the opposite. In the quote this writer uses IN THE ARTICLE, he says he's tired of playing the same FPS style every year. Obviously he's trying to offer an alternative, not directly compete.
Yeah, the author here is taking a lot of liberties here. Proulx was obviously saying that people needed different types of games than the draw of the annual CoD. He was not saying it was a CoD Killer, only something that wasn't trying to recreate what CoD is doing.
