All of them lil bro? 😂

Truth is along with Concord (Biggest loss in gaming history, even surpassing ET)
Buying Bungie might have been Sony's biggest L.

XiNatsuDragnel116d ago

Big bro, true concord is gone yes, destiny is plummeting, connections is 95% gone, sz is down bad, cod is dying too, I think rivals and fornite, and roblox are three exceptions.

When you abandon the game what else do you expect?

Sony did a bungie jump without the safety cord.

Obscure_Observer117d ago

"Sony did a bungie jump without the safety cord."

Last time I checked Sony laid off 220 developers, reallocated a lot of Bungie´s talent in different positions and studios and promoted several budget cuts.

I mean, how it´s all Bungie´s fault and not Sony´s mismanagement?!

They have being owned by Sony for two years and a half now! $3.6 billion invested in a *single* studio! Half of the amount Microsoft paid for an entire publisher (Zenimax/Bethesda), and today Bungie is nothing but a shadow of its former self.

I'm guessing inglis bad?

Me spiks simpul to u

Destiny 2 was the safety cord and Sony abandoned it

Obscure_Observer117d ago

"Destiny 2 was the safety cord and Sony abandoned it"

My mistake. Sorry.

gleepot117d ago

This is ENTIRELY bungies fault. The agreement was that Sony would leave them to their own devices, and then step in if necessary. Bungie abandoned the game, leaving a skeleton crew for development while they moved everyone else to various projects.

They ignored community requests to improve the game for years. This is 1000% bungies fault.

Obscure

Bungie had the worst CEO who cared more about classic cars than his employees. If Sony or someone rlsr hadn't stepped in to acquire bungie they would have gone under (this isn't an opinion this is very well know fact from EX employees)

A lot of mismanagement. What bugs me as a gamer is how our content that we bought is no longer playable. Why can't they allow that content to be playable online or offline. This nonsense has to stop. Seasonal content should be made available to all players regardless of when they joined the game. Halo infinite allowed it

Sony added another billion dollars for employee retention after the 3.5 billion purchasing bungie.

Sony had no power over Bungie until a bottom line thresholds was met per the contract.

Sony created a whole new development team from Bungie employees and projects.
Of which even more money spent saving jobs.

Sony also moved projects away from Bungie that were “project ideas” wasting away development of destiny and their furthest along project marathon.

Bungie wanted to turn out the lights back in 2018 when they tried to sell the ip to Activision… after a year test drive, Activision said no thank you and saw that Bungie had nothing per content ready and decided to cut their partnership due to their mid-managing.

It has been less than 6 months of Sony stepping in due to bungies management not hitting their marks.

All the blame for destiny is only on Bungie and their leadership.

Sony went way beyond trying to save Bungie….

It all takes time… but Sony is now doing what they can.

You are grossly misinformed on what has and is taking place with bungie, Sony and destiny.

Regardless… Sony paid for bungie’s engine. One of the greatest fps engines to exist.

What's your definition of abandon?

pwnmaster3000117d ago

This game came out in 2017.
I think they did a pretty good job keeping it alive for this long

BlackDoomAx116d ago

10% after 8 years is remarkable.

OpenGL116d ago

Publishers shouldn't expect every game to turn into World of Warcraft or League of Legends. Most games only remain popular for a few years, that doesn't mean they aren't worth making.

Facts. Some shut down servers in record time.

What If... Destiny 2's Gambit Was a Hit?

In a world where Gambit thrived, Destiny 2’s seasons, storylines, and even its endgame might’ve revolved around PvEvP as a core foundation.

Destiny already has the pretty hyper 'raid' fixation and then they added legendary raid dungeons. Hyperfixating in PvEvP wouldn't work as well because you need a lot more than 2% of the userbase to keep that going unlike raids that are propped up by streamers who make running them their whole job. Most players don't play all the raids let alone run them over and over. And most who play PvP don't want structured PvE elements.
