5070Ti the sweet spot.. in terms of price to performance by the looks of it, same as rumours suggested, it's too close to the 5080 which is probably why it's not launching at the same time because it almost makes the 5080 look redundant.

Michiel1989107d ago (Edited 107d ago )

5070 is not gonna be close to performance of the 4090 if that's what you think. When they mentioned that they showed AI flops or tops on screen, so its probably just that aspect that is comparable to it. If you check the rest of the specs, 5070 is almost 50% lower or more than 4090

They did the same thing last gen announcement and it was also 1 thing out of 20 that was comparable when they made a statement like this.

Neonridr107d ago

the close to performance is with the aid of the x4 frame generation technology. Technically it won't be on the same level performance wise, from a consumer standpoint, most won't be able to tell the difference.

Michiel1989107d ago

i go by their previous track record and won't believe shit until it's in the hand of the consumer until then, I consider them lies because they've done so before. Believe me I want to believe it, would be the best value in 2 decades from nvidia, but I don't see it happening.

Sephiroushin107d ago

@neo

you're crazy if you think you cant see a difference, dlss, fsr and every upscaler is crap and noticeable, espeically if you're used to play your videogames with all that utter s*** turned off, hopefully the 5090 raw performance bring Ultra 4k @120 comfortably because the 4090 it still not there!

badz149107d ago

can't believe we are living in a time where PC gamers are hyped over upscaling and fake frames sigh.

remember in 2014 when KZSF was nitpicked and bashed to hell for using temporal projection to achieve 60fps in MP? all is good as long as nVidia is doing it, right, masterrace??

Michiel1989106d ago

@badz you're so disconnected from pc gaming that you don't even realize that 90% of the pc gaming community hates nvidia because their prices are so ridiculous, the sad thing is when it comes to the highest performance cards, there is no competition. but yeah let's dig up one nitpicked example from the dark ages to prove a point that probably 2 journos mentioned, no one was complaining about the graphics. KZ SF just wasn't even close to as memorable as kz 2 or even 3, that's why it got worse reviews. I remember almost nothing from SF while I have many cool memories from kz2.

If the 5070 had 16GB VRAM @ $549 it would have been a killer card, and probably be hard to find at retail price for quite a while.

I’m getting that 5090! I’ve been holding off upgrading my pc for 10 years! Still on a titan x pascal! I’m going all in!

bunt-custardly107d ago

Good luck with that. My advice, don't stress out on the day 1 purchase and take yer time. You will get one eventually.

Until they do something about the scalpers issue these GPU releases are a nightmare.

lucasnooker107d ago

I’m still waiting on my 9800x3D lol. I ordered at normal price but had to be put on the backlog instead and wait till end of Jan for it.

My new pc parts are just going to be sitting there till I get my new components…

RiseNShine107d ago

Give me the real world tests and get the marketing cheap talk out of the way, i bet 5070 is barely close to 4080 is pure rasterized performance if you remove DLSS and other nvidia tricks.

DivineHand125107d ago

Something tells me that all new high-budget games will support the AI frame-gen tech, so rasterized performance will only matter on lower-budget or older PC games.

RiseNShine107d ago (Edited 107d ago )

If that's ok for you then good, but $2,000 for 30% more real performance and the rest of the improvement is based on fake frames performance doesn't seem such a good deal, and we're yet to see how good those extra generated frames look like.

Speaking as someone who uses xcloud, i havent really noticed much lag, if at all. I have used the service on a wide variety of devices. A VCR XBO, a One X, the logitech GCloud, steamdeck and my work PC. in all cases it just works and works really well. I was not interested at first in the idea of streaming a game, but then i really started using it as a way to gauge interest if a game is worth my time of downloading/installing and I just cant help but jump into new titles when they drop. I used to do the same with new releases on netflix so i can see why they make that similar proclimation.
