This is good news for the future of VR. There were nearly as much users as steam deck users based on the statistics. I was also very active with steam VR in December.

Makes sense with all the Quest and other headsets no doubt sold over the season. Hoping the numbers maintain and grow moving forwards. I think the figure overall is still very low adoption rates in the grand scheme.

FinalFantasyFanatic109d ago

I don't think they'res enough games to drive a faster VR adoption rate, most people who already own them are still going back to old favourites like Beat Saber and VR Chat. If those game don't appeal to people, then I think it'll be harder to encourage more people to buy VR sets.

DivineHand125109d ago

I think this is true and there is also the fact that VR gaming is seldomly endorsed by mainstream gaming websites and YT content creators. Infact some has said they will not support VR.

They are doing the gaming community a disservice because there are some really great flat screen to VR mods out there.

So far I have tried Half life 2 episode 1 & 2 and Risk of Rain 2.

Resident Evil 2,3, 7 and 8 all have VR mods and I will be trying then at some point. There is so Alien Isolation, deep rock galactic, Doom 3, Skyrim, Fallout 4, Halo CE and more that has received VR Mods. The list keeps increasing on a monthly basis.

I would much rather support those games in VR vs the single mechanic cellphone Tier games they are charging $30 for.

Anyone try PCPSVR2 lately?

Has it fixed the lost sound bug after first app exit yet? I noticed there’s been an update or 2.

That ruined my whole experience with it. So I put it away to gather dust again. It’s great while it worked though.

Me neither. Deleted it. Robocop is clearly more my level.

It's pretty damn good. I'm about 16 hours into it. Lots of secrets and mysteries. I'm on day 14 I think. Still haven't beaten it. Gotten very close a few times. Unlocked many secrets already. Instead of writing down things, I usually take pictures with my Playstation and write on them using the editor, its very fast. There is a small element of luck, but mostly it's about learning and planning and solving puzzles that are bigger than the one room you're in or the item you're looking at. There are so many secrets that some players will never know unless you put in the time and learn and pay attention. It's an eerie and mysterious puzzle game. I think it's addicting and a lot of fun. 9/10

I just got to day 4. First 2 days I started going into it blind, and just trying to remember by memory but got overwhelmed pretty quickly. Got a handy dandy notebook and my notes will definitely help in the long run.

Been enjoying it so far, but with Oblivion dropping and me stupidly picking it up, might take a hit to my playtime on Blue Prince.

I like that critical thinking and puzzle solving go hand in hand, and you're not having your hand held the whole time.

No game is for everyone. We all have different tastes, some have broader taste some have more specific taste and it’s ok either way. Play what you like!

Christopher8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

***The problem is, the game tells you absolutely nothing about what you’re actually supposed to do.***

Getting to room 46 itself is a puzzle and the whole game tells you to solve puzzles.

***But how do you know if something in a room actually has meaning?***

It's a puzzle game. It's not just going to hand you the answer. I guess this is the point where we get to people who want an NPC to tell them how to solve the part of a puzzle and the people who truly want to figure out the puzzle for themselves.

This makes me feel like some gamers are becoming more like my nephews, they're not solving problems, they're just looking for youtube videos of people who have solved them and following what they did.

P.S. Please don't write another first paragraph like the one in this again. It really sets a tone that you don't know what you're doing.

I am not surprised imo because it felt like that for awhile.

Truth is that it was always sort of a lie. You were getting a couple of “day one” per year but they had trained people to think they were going to get all games day one.

GhostScholar6d ago

That is just false. It was never even eluded to that any games other than first party would be day one. Also it’s only April and we’ve already got more than “a couple” day one games.

TheEroica6d ago

What a misinformed comment... As bad a take as I've read in a while.

InUrFoxHole6d ago

Cmon guy. You really believed all games were coming day one when they've always said 1st party only?

S2Killinit6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

They did it really carefully, i didnt say they ever said “all games are day one” but they created an impression like that was the case. For instance nowhere did people actually see a list of day one games in articles or from MS’s mouth, but they kept saying “all first party” as if the number of day one games was something amazing. Truth is that they were getting a couple of games per year max on average. (Not sure what its like now)

@GhostScholar
Again, not sure what you got this year. But honestly is it even remotely worth it? Also, they get “day ones” on PSPlus as well, just not first party, and they are not paying $20/month for it.

FinalFantasyFanatic6d ago

It's not like they could do any differently, it takes a lot of money to keep the Gamepass monster fed, to put the majority of games on there day one is just going to drain too much money. They may have considered it at one point to try and kill off Playstation/Nintendo, but it's not a viable long-term strategy.
