I can feel the anger of some folks already.

lodossrage141d ago

Yeah same here.

But what I don't get is almost everyone had/has something similar.

Epic, EA, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Microsoft, Activision, Bethesda, etc. But when Playstation has the same sign-in requirement it's an issue.

I don't mind people having a gripe about it. My discourse comes in with some companies getting more hate than others for doing the same thing.

That requires an ID?

Ok that's new to me, but then again I had my account since forever at this point. THAT is something worth being angry about then. Because when I made mine I sure as hell didn't need that

Edit - Ok, this must be a PC gaming only thing. I just made an account. Still, I can see being angry if people need an id or face scan

neutralgamer1992140d ago

i am a PC gamer and i really don't care. I already have a PSN. On PC we have to have so many launchers depending on game publisher meaning we need to create accounts for those. If that's the price of having games on PC or not having playstation games on PC a PSN account is a very small requirement

Vits140d ago

Well, PSN is one of the only account systems that outright blocks regions from accessing certain games, so anyone from those regions will obviously hate it more than they hate Ubisoft Connect, which is just annoying.

For everyone else, the level of hate is about the same. There are mods to bypass Rockstar's account system, just like there are for PSN. There are also curator pages dedicated to tracking games that use EOS, etc.

"My discourse comes in with some companies getting more hate than others for doing the same thing."

Exactly. This is it for me too. Trying to turn one company into a whipping boy for the industry wont fix the industry. The other companies are just emboldened because they know you wont go after them. Just this one company lol.

ZwVw140d ago (Edited 140d ago )

EA, Ubisoft, MS, etc at least have their own stores/launchers in which purchases over Steam can be potentially linked to. Outside of Trophy linking (between PS consoles and PC) there's literally no incentive to signing up for a PSN account over Steam other than for Sony to try to bolster their account figures for their investors.

Faux anger. A "controversial" game from Sony just recently received a high rating because the "ermegerd free account login bad!" review bombing hype was over.

Deeeeznuuuts140d ago

Oh no, they have to make a PSN account, the horror....

goken140d ago

I have a PSN account so whatever. I understand it’s a bit cumbersome,
But for some reason people are ok to get an account for FB, email, youtube etc but PSN hell no.

TheColbertinator140d ago (Edited 140d ago )

Keep it. Whoever decided that PSN log-in stipulation is a miserable pile of dung.

Eonjay140d ago

Out of curiosity, why are you so enraged? Is it because you live outside of one of the PSN regions?

thorstein140d ago

Don't forget to include countries that don't have internet, or very limited access in order to make the amount of those inaccessible regions seem even more egregious.

staticall139d ago

@Eonjay
Can't say what @TheColbertinator opinion is, but, IMO, this is dumb, because it's a singleplayer game. Do and require what you want from multiplayer games, but singleplayer games should support offline mode, without login requirement or extra downloads.

On top of that, i think it can hurt the customers. Reason - i have a PSN account, but i can't use it anymore, because the country where i'm living have PSN shut down. This is something everyone who defends this decision should keep in mind, this can happen to anyone potentially. You can't login to PSN, you can't play the game, even if you "own" it.

I prefer this route over pushing out a mess. Plus I have a lot of good games to play that have come out this year and will give me more time to work on the pile

italiangamer8d ago

Expected, the lack of marketing for a game coming out in 1 month was telling the story already.
No problem, more polish is always good.

Relientk778d ago

That's fine with me. I'd rather wait for a good game over getting an unfinished or bad one.

Elda8d ago

A little disappointed, I wanted to play this while I'll be on my 3 1/2 month vacation from work. When it releases I'll be going back to work...lol.

I really dont care about 300+ fps in 4k, as long as its around 120-150fps with a decent imput lag im ok.

Yama55d ago

Agreed. When I see these numbers however, I’m usually relieved as that’s that it means we’ll get at a more native experience. FG always should be for this, obscene numbers or running insanely expensive tech like path tracing. It should never be a cheat to make an unoptimized mess touch 60, like Ronin on PC.

saint_seya55d ago

Yeah, same here, well probably those numbers are with a 5090, and i own a 5080 so the native numbers wont be like that, but i believe it should still be good.

Mike6940d ago

NVIDIA once more lie....this number are with FG x4 enable and that with a ton of input lag.Dlss 4 without activating FG does not give this kind of framerate. Its disgusting that NVIDIA lies and thinks people are stupid.
