Capcom says it's working on ‘re-activating other dormant IPs’ like Onimusha and Okami

Capcom has said it’s working on, “re-activating dormant IPs” following the announcements of Onimusha and Okami sequels this week.

if onimusha and okami fail, they wont.

unfortunately, capcom sits on alot of great IPs that either were very niche to begin with had their last game 20 + years ago.

Onimusha had modest sales even with the PS2 insane install base, so the trick is to appeal to new comers and stay faithful to the og formula.

if onimusha fails and okami aswell, u better believe that Capcom wont go bk to them ever agin

If a samurai and zelda type game fail i doubt it discurages them from making a resident evil game with dinosaurs. It just means no more onimusha or okami.

And by the time onimusha hypothetically flops the other IP game will be already in development.

im talking about the breath of fire ip and others that were more or less left in the dust due to their niche nature. even bk then.

We've been asking for a new Dino Crisis for years. With RE returning to survival horror, they could have used the Dino Crisis IP to push the action route RE was heading in with RE5&6 before they took it back to being survival horror. One can dream.

They should have taken advantage of the initial buzz generated by Jurassic Park's revival. Imagine Dino Crsis remake with a VR mode. that would have been amazing.
