interestingly, GTA 6 is not included in that

Obscure_Observer147d ago

Maybe Xbox got the marketing rights, or maybe not.

Anyway. Not much of a impressive 2025 for Playstation based on this trailer.

goken147d ago

While it’s a matter of taste, Not that I disagree, but it’s hard to take it seriously from someone who was impressed and all hyped about redfall.

"While it’s a matter of taste, Not that I disagree, but it’s hard to take it seriously from someone who was impressed and all hyped about redfall."

Then disappointed at released, because unlike some of you, I will call a crap game for what it is.

If you´re happy with Playstation´s upcoming first party lineup of games, more power to you.

northpaws147d ago

@Obscure_Observer

"Unlike some of you"? Seriously? From you?

You are the one single most delusional user on this site, that praise on everything from XBox. And then pretend to be natural by saying a game or two that are universally accepted as being bad.

Cacabunga147d ago

Ghost is the only thing I’m looking forward to so far in 25. Hoping for no more Horizon related software and more SP games reveals from other studios

ravens52147d ago

There will be plenty other games. Let's not be silly. Expect another fire year for Playstation as a whole, except more 1st party games.

trez1082147d ago (Edited 147d ago )

I’m sure you say that about this year and we know how entertaining, full of great games and surprises the Platform offered. I remember some downplaying a state of play that had helldivers 2, rise of the ronin and stella blade last year only for those games to go on and become cult classics or in Helldivers 2 case very popular. 2025 will be another good year for PlayStation and we hope all of them can have a good year and by “ we “ I meant gamers that actually own all 3 consoles.

The Wood147d ago

You were so gassed you couldn't even tell it was a dudd due to your unwavering glazing of everything xbox announce.

TheEroica147d ago (Edited 147d ago )

Ps5 or BS Jive? 2025 looks meager for Sony fans.... Again.

S2Killinit146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

Its going to be yet another amazing year for PlayStation gamers.

Eonjay147d ago

GTA will get its own thing obviously.

harv052147d ago

Maybe, and correct me if I'm wrong, it's because GTA 6 does not yet have a release date or even a release window for that matter. Sure some say 2025, but I think even Rockstar won't commit to a vague release window. Might get pushed to 2026...

Eonjay147d ago

Rockstar has stated a release window of Fall 2025.

REDGUM147d ago

I thought gta6 was due in 2026?

gold_drake147d ago

last time we heard anything from it was a fall 2025 release, but thats rly all we've heard.

fan_of_gaming147d ago

Will get:
Ghost Of Yotei
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach
Monster Hunter Wilds
Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii
Assassin's Creed: Shadows
Borderlands 4
DOOM: The Dark Ages
Mafia: The Old Country
Hell Is Us
Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Where Winds Meet

Won't get:
Little Nightmares III
Forever Skies
Civilization VII
Baby Steps
The Midnight Walk

robtion147d ago

I see a whole bunch of sequels but not a lot of originality/new IP. A bit underwhelming for me personally if I'm honest.

S2Killinit146d ago

Sequels can be original too imo. This looks stellar to me. And Im sure this list is not exhaustive, there may be others as well.

Name Last Name147d ago

I'm only getting Yotei and MH Wilds. Between those and my backlog I have enough for a while.

S2Killinit146d ago

Yotei is my most anticipated, but my wallet wishes i could refrain from spending on a lot more.

Tapani147d ago (Edited 147d ago )

I'm underwhelmed by this. Probably many of those are really good games, but they are the same games over and over again, nothing new or interesting. May buy a bunch of those in 2026 or 2027 if I have time to clear my backlog in the next 18 months or so. With a family and busy working life, gaming is a rare pleasure. It would have to be something special to make it worth it, and my backlog has most of that special stuff already, albeit some of them are older games (which is fine because they run at 144fps and are all patched up).

S2Killinit146d ago

I agreed with your list but im curious for where winds meet.

They advertised Doom. From a buissness point of I view I don't think that's a good idea tbh. It's a MS first party all they've doing is lining up their pockets. It'll sell more on PS maybe that's what MS wants with doom.

Fishy Fingers147d ago

Meh.

I think from a business POV its more important to try to sell and promote your product to consumers through showing them all the new and established content thats coming, rather than worry about who made that content.

You should do the same.

Lightning77147d ago

Well MS is like a parasite. They entered the host (Sony) and Sony is here multiplying money to said parasite (MS) with out realizing they're doing harm on themselves until it's too late. Not just Doom but all of Xbox 1st party.

Meaning from a competitive business point of view to harm MS is to not promote their products. Is what I'm sayin. Has nothin to do with Console wars.

Tacoboto147d ago

Doom is one of gaming's most significant franchises that's been around for decades. Yeah it'll sell more on a hardware platform with 2-4x the playerbase.

That's a pretty petty business projection of fanboy wars and would apply equally to Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, blah blah yada yada, things that everyday consumers don't pay any mind to.

mkis007147d ago

Sony just wants games on its platform no matter who makes them.

Angyobangyo147d ago

MS bought Activision Blizzard for an insane amount, so having their product on different platforms makes perfect sense from a business POV!

S2Killinit146d ago

Im sure you know better than Sony.

Lightning77146d ago

Sony's keeping the competition a float. Not hard yo understand.

Here's hoping the game quality and content is, at least, as good as (hopefully even better than) Tshusima. Sucker Punch hasn't let me down yet.

pwnmaster30001d 10h ago

My most anticipated game this year.
First one was Phenomenal for me. Day 1

Aloymetal1d 7h ago

''The game is the number one most pre-ordered release on Sony’s storefront, with the $80 Deluxe Edition trending better than its bog-standard $70 alternative.''
Day 1 for sure, can't wait!

anast1d 6h ago

So much good stuff coming out from Sony.

Aloymetal1d 6h ago

Yeah, 2025 not looking bad at all;)

1d 6h ago
darthv721d 3h ago

Well.... with this release, it's already better than last year.

1d 6h ago
lukasmain1d 4h ago

I pre-ordered it as soon as it was available. I support as many PS exclusives as I can, at least ones that I will play. Paid for DS2 as well

So now they have to pay $70 like the US customers.

3d ago Replies(1)
Profchaos3d ago

They have to pay R$399,90 which converts to 70. But can fluctuate

Agent753d ago

£70 top for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 games, £75 tops for Switch 2 games in the UK, that's tipping $99 at the current exchange rate.

rlow13d ago

This is how they’ll force everyone into subscriptions services and never ever owning your games again.

Knushwood Butt3d ago

I don't see how, because the used market will still be there, plus if the price is so high that demand is low, retailers will discount them. Not ideal for them, but that happens with any product.
If they were serious about forcing customers to digital, they'd stop manufacturing physical altogether.

neutralgamer19923d ago

Knushwood

Keep this in mind

Publishers may make a lot less copies of physical games so this way they can even dictate that used market stays high. I am a Pc gamer so buying digital has been accepted it is what it is

I will not pay $70 for games never. Will always wait for $25-$30

rlow13d ago

Well the used market will exist only if theirs physical media. As I’m sure you know Xbox and PlayStation latest are digital with physical media as an option. Combine that with higher prices across the board and subscription services start looking a whole lot better. Especially for those on a tight budget…….Slowly but surely the needle keeps on getting pushed towards an all digital future. I hope I’m wrong, but so much points to it.

Obscure_Observer2d ago

"If they were serious about forcing customers to digital, they'd stop manufacturing physical altogether."

All they need to do is give you an empty box with a digital code written on it just like Nintendo.

Profchaos3d ago

I'll just play less games or more retro

Hedstrom3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Well people will just play games that doesnt cost intill they drop in price. Look at most played games and you find Fortnite, Roblox, Rocket League and so on. When games start to cost 100$ people will just not buy them. And i think this move is kinda bald from the industry, because i dont think they are counting on people just not buying their product. But if you check behind the scenes of peoples purchasing power its really low, people are truly struggling economically. And gaming isnt something people priorities when you dont get food on the table..

Profchaos2d ago

But in that vein I've known people who say that their kids have spent easily 1000 plus on Roblox it's all they play and their birthday money etc goes into buying Roblox money.

Is were here complaining about 80 dollars for a game free to play is not the alternative when free to play is like like the cocaine dealer giving you the first hit for free it's setting you up to get hooked and inevitably spend more on skins than you'd buy a game for

rob-GP2d ago

Even though this game isn't in PS Plus and won't be for at least 1-2 years...
