the big electric store near me also nust pumped up the price for them.
its ridiculous

fr0sty167d ago (Edited 167d ago )

Why not just buy it on playstation direct? Is that a US only thing?

Edit: NVM, I see they're out of stock. Found one on Ebay at stock price, though.

gold_drake167d ago

id rather not buy stuff online. i like to go into a store xD

and yeh, it was sold out immediately online

gigoran8167d ago

yeah a lot of countries can't order from playstation direct. the scalpers knew what they were doing this time. small ticket item soon to be high in demand. the prices they asked for were shocking. ebay has no issues with price gouging. jokes on them, i was able to get one on the same day that my pro was delivered.

RedDevils166d ago

It's like when you selling them shovels instead.

REDGUM167d ago

I'm more interested in hearing when Australian stores receiving more stock personally but an updateis an update. This is getting silly with no word on when it might, if at all, happen.
I'm not purchasing a pro till I can find a disc drive.

Gamingsince1981167d ago

They are easy to get here in Australia, they just cost alot more than anywhere else. $1200 for a ps5 pro for example.

REDGUM167d ago

any links would be helpful please unless, like MeteorPanda commented, you're talking about the slim model as well?

RedDevils166d ago

Ps5 pro I can just walk in to Jb hi fi or Harvey Norman and walk out with it. But the disk drive is nowhere to be found. The cheapest place that you can find is facebook marketplace lol

mkis007167d ago

Well this should prove to sony it would be unwise to drop physical anytime soon.

Tacoboto167d ago

But instead the lesson learned will be "Physical is obviously the inconvenient one here"

mkis007167d ago

I wouldnt be surprised at all if this standalone drive is their test before a discision is made for ps6.

I guess that means the game is trash?

PRIMORDUS1h ago

No it's good but for $70 and Denuvo DRM on PC hard pass.

This game just didn't excite me like the last 2. I'm passing on it this time.

LucasRuinedChildhood1h ago

Could be affected by:
- A percentage of people will play this on GamePass which the last 2 games did not launch on.
- A percentage of players bought the Deluxe Edition which included early access, reducing the peak as players will start playing it on different days.

PRIMORDUS1h ago

Price most likely the issue, and while most don't know or care about Denuvo on PC, if you lower the price I'm sure it will sell more on all platforms.

I don't understand where this is coming from, they act like they failed in that department with the first game and that it was a massive issue for them when it reality they did so well on it a lot of Japanese devs praised it.

Are they scared western journalists are going to do the same thing they did for the first game where they don't outright say it but they give off the impression there's some sort of racist undertones with a game set in Japan being made by Western developers.

jznrpg4h ago

They literally went to Japan so where does western journalists come from?

Profchaos3h ago

It's not like they tried to pass off a half tori

Goodguy015h ago

What? They did great with tsushima lol

Knushwood Butt4h ago

Well, you don't get a sea of pink sakura petals as shown in the thumbnail above.
I've literally been stood in an avenue of blossoming trees this week and, while you do get petals on the floor, it doesn't look like that. That thumbnail looks like someone spilled several cans of pink paint all over the floor.
I also took multiple photos.

Knushwood Butt3h ago

Furthermore, that size and number of trees would not produce that volume of petals.

Don't believe me? Come out here. I'm literally a 5 min drive from fantastic views of Youteizan. Cherry blossom is still in full swing but will be over in the next week.

The "we started again" quote doesn't exist on the PS Blog though...
