Xbox boss Phil Spencer explains that the new ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X is Microsoft's best collaboration between gaming and Windows teams.
I don't mind gimmicky features like the PS Vita or Switch (evolution of the Wii) had, as long as they're an option and not forced. I mostly play Mario Golf handheld w normal controls, but every great once in a while, I'll use the motion controls to play a round. My kids especially love it. Or swinging the sword and shield in Skyrim.
I grew tired of the Wii quickly though back in the day, where most games were requiring waggle.
With whatever they choose, I hope it's a bonus feature that some games may fully embrace, but not all. Also whatever they choose, I hope it's not a financial straining point so much that it forces them to use excessively weak hardware in order to keep the price down.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they release a standard Switch 2 and a Switch 2 Pro side by side. I would most definitely go Pro.
better online functionality
Message a friend, drop the code to add a friend, and a party chat system would be great features.
Would have like a dock only console with more power. But man I would like trophies or achievements too. Message a friend etc.
If we are talking about different features, I would really like the ability to stream content to the screen while using it in handheld mode. Basically, a Wii U Gamepad 2.0.
I'm fully aware that few games would use that feature, but the possibilities for new game modes, inventory management, and especially asymmetrical multiplayer would be there.
And if there is a "Lite," I hope it isn't artificially limited like the current model. Adding the ability to "switch" to it would cost literally just a few cents, and Nintendo could make more money by selling specific docks and controllers for it. Not to mention, it would still retain its niche as a smaller device without detachable controllers.
