Silent Hill 2 Not Getting Nominated For Game Of The Year Is An Absolute Robbery

Silent Hill 2's excellent display of survival horror has gone unnoticed at The Game Awards, as per the revealed GOTY nominees.

It deserves it more than Shadow of the Erdtree

SH2 is the biggest surprise for me this year, the marketing in my opinion made this game look terrible from the first trailer to a couple of months before release where we started to see better stuff but it really turned things around. I was gladly wrong about this one and I think that’s made me enjoy it more keeping my expectations low.

SH2 deserves a place on that list, it even deserves it more than Black Myth.

I loved the game and i definitely agree it should be there instead of Erdtree or Wukong but i still hold resentment towards it cause the game is an absolute tehnical mess that mind you still isn’t fixed and i can’t stand games that are like that so i’m kinda torn on the not having a nomination part of it.

Haven't played Silent Hill 2 yet, but Stellar Blade was amazing and definitely in the running for my favourite game this year.

In fact, I am currently waiting for my disk drive for my PS5Pro (retailer says end of November, i aint paying scum bag scalpers) so I can replay it to earn my plat trophy.

I really like Balatro but I agree, far better games than that have been overlooked this year.

Funny thing is, I honestly see Balatro potentially winning, the media types lost their shit over it this year.

Again, it is a great game but for me, Stellar Blade, Astrobot, FF7 or Helldivers really shone this year

That's cause it owes a lot to the original otherwise there wouldn't be a remake. Personally don't think it deserves any award unless there was one specifically for remakes and even then a category for remakes wouldn't really make much sense. That's not to say it doesn't deserve praise for what it is but I think it'd be unfair to the original works of this year. Stellar Blades is the one that should've gotten nominated, but you have the professional "journalists" for that not happening.

It annoys me moreso because I don't even like soulslike games, I can not understand the love for them at all, ever since demon souls and dark souls, I just don't get them, even the combat seems like a janky mess to me.

Remakes should get its own award category.
Unfair to many new games that got nominated.
Still gutted that Stellar Blade got snubbed even on Joystick Awards it got robbed.
They wasted the spots for some card game and a DLC.

The fact that Bloober slapped us naysayers in the face, makes them deserving of being on the list. Not only did they pull something off that no western dev was able to (a Silent Hill game that feels like it was made by Team Silent), they surpassed Team Silent in my eyes. I enjoyed every moment of Silent Hill 2 and got the platinum I enjoyed it that much.

This and Stellar blade got robbed, a card game that nobody outside the gaming journalists has even heard of or played took the slot from two very deserving games. The game awards are a joke at this point. Sadly Erdtree is probably going to win, its rigged. Thats why they put a
disclaimer that dlc can now be up for goty. Not hating on the souls like formula but the dlc is more of the same Elden ring already gave you. Its not right to be considered game Of the year, when there is far more deserving games and Balantro.....A poker game with a twist beat out triple A blockbuster games, a cellphone game made in somebodys basement gets a nom. Im sure its a fun time waster but goty it is not.
