Battlefield 6 is Undergoing Franchise's Biggest Playtests Ever to Prevent Another Disastrous Launch

Battlefield players have had a reasonably tough time with the franchise these past few years. 2018’s Battlefield V launch was a disaster, but 2021’s Battlefield 2042 was worse, pushing a lot of Battlefield fans away from the franchise. But now, with just a year until the next major installment in the Battlefield universe set to release, EA and DICE have a lot of making up to do.

Is it still Battlefield though?

The launch was not the issue.
Not being Battlefield was/

I would rather they made a new bad company

Redgrave200d ago (Edited 200d ago )

We all would, but they'd rather do Hardline 2 before Bad Company 3. Which means never.

Hell, even a BF BC2 remaster would do it

Haha they literally say this every year!

That’s the biggest fault with the battlefield franchise since BF2. They always release in an incredibly poor state. There always fixed in the end but it generally takes them ages to get to a finished state.

I guarantee it’ll launch on pc with the DX12 full screen blank boot error and it won’t get fixed for at least 3 months just like every single BF game since BF2.

I love the BF series but my god, as a developer DICE are awful!

PapaBop201d ago (Edited 201d ago )

Playtesters: "the game is too buggy and needs more time to iron out issues and improve performance"
EA: "we've had a amazing response from playtesters and the game has gone gold and scheduled to release as intended"

Yeah lets see how that plays out *grabs popcorn and beer*

Jokes aside, EA has proven time and time again they are a release first, patch later company. Some fancy PR work isn't going to convince me this will be any different.

I just wanna know will destruction be on par with Bad Company 2 🤔?

RaidenBlack201d ago (Edited 201d ago )

Ex-Dice devs implemented amazing destruction in The Finals and gave a much needed competition.
After seeing a glimpse of the alpha footage of this BF ... I'd say they're focusing more on destruction this time.
But as always, only time will tell.

Why don't they try making something new and leave battllefield to rest in its current grave

‘Battlefield 6’ Players Revolt Over A Lack Of Weapon Locking

While previews of Battlefield 6 have looked intense and quite good, the game has already stumbled into controversy with its early test.

Muigi16d ago

Really not that big of a deal these tablet babies bitch about everything these days.

JEECE16d ago

If by "tablet babies" you mean kids/teenagers, they are not the ones complaining about this. Trying to appeal to them is the reason EA is doing this. It's the old fans of the series who are mad.

But of course, you knew all that.

Muigi16d ago

Yeah and I’m a throwback fan who doesn’t care…but of course you knew that.

JEECE16d ago

@Muigi

So you're a throwback fan who wants them to go down the same road that led to 2042? Unusual, but taste is subjective I guess lol.

Muigi16d ago

I wanted them to make the destruction back to the Bad Company 2/ Battlefield 3 days. To each their own but a medic with a sniper rifle isn’t going to stop me from buying the game lol.

thorstein16d ago

Non story from Forbes.

The game is in testing.

They're is no "revolt" even the game doesn't have a launch date, isn't finished, and isn't in early access.

jambola16d ago

At a certain point you just have to blame the players
stop going back until it gets better

Battlefield veterans are upset by this. I’m personally not bothered by it. But I can see their point of view.

Where has this narrative come from and why is it being pushed? There has always been "3D Spotting" although it's always been called "Ping" or "Mark" until this stupid narrative arrived..
