Yep i was being sarcastic ...i think that the PS5 Pro should have been the original playstation with disk drive and stand inckuded. In europe this baby is 800 Euros + 119 + 30 a bit ridiculous. i am a huge sony fan but they are pulling my legs on this.
I will buy the moment there is a lineup of decent NOT already released and patched games ...

Personally going back to replay older games with prettier graphics didn't appeal to me I was waiting for GTA vi to sell me on any enhancements.

And if the console gets a price drop by then it's more likely I will trade up.

Nah I was just speaking in general when it comes to these parts they are just priced higher compared to the Us. Ps5 pro is listed as say $500 dollars when advertised, but when you put it in pounds or import it in these territories they ask way more

I'm not surprised these haven't sold that well. I remember upgrading from the Ps4 to the Ps4 pro and the upgrade was barely noticeable. That I do not see people selling their current £450 consoles at say around £300, to pay another £400 (ish) for 60fps with high graphics settings.

Seeing as every other comment is pure assertion or anecdotal, I'll add my experience to this conversation. I did sell my base PS5 to CEX for 270 quid and I did spend the extra to get the Pro.

Guess what, I am pleased I did, plenty of patched up games and I know that going forward, loads more games will play best on PS5Pro (in the console sector).

I work hard, don't waste money on smoking, drinking, gambling, drugs etc. I make sure my family are cared for and I love to play a video game of an evening. I figure it's money well spent when I get 4 or 5 hours a night out of the machine.

There's nothing wrong with treating yourself, and it's great you have the priorities in the right order, I commend that.

For me, a £400 additional cost needs to give me more than 60fps at high/ultra graphics. £400 is a lot of money for a medium performance boost. Considering £400 is a Steam Deck/ROG Ally or a Switch Oled and games etc. There's a lot more options at play now than there was during the PS4 Pro days.

Going by the reviews of a base PS5 to the Pro, it's not leaps and bounds and I learnt that with the PS4 Pro, with it's checkerboard 4k. Sure it looked better, but it wasn't a huge jump, so I could've stuck with the base model and been just as happy.
Sony came marching out the gate with it's marketing BS to upsell the PS5 Pro and once people got their hands on, the curtain was pulled back to reveal there was a lot of overhype.

But I am happy to see they are using upscaling tech, meaning these consoles can last a lot longer.

Each to their own chief, as I said, no doubt is is expensive and it's for each individual to decide if they consider it worthwhile or value for money.

I already have a Switch and a decent PC but it's PS5 where I spend most of my time. Perhaps when/if the price comes down it will feel like a decent value for money proposition for you too? I get that it's super subjective mate👍

Why do people react to this clickbait material and root so hard one way or another? Just look at some data. It was the highest selling console on Amazon over the time period so it’s doing just fine. A bunch of people that can’t or don’t want to afford it are rooting so hard for it to fail is pretty ridiculous. Some of these are probably the same suckers that spend $500+ over the course of a year on micrtransactions.

I think the console is expensive and it is fair to acknowledge that. At the same time, I do have to wonder about the motives behind a lot of the vitriol against the PS5Pro. If you don't want the console don't buy it, simple as that.

I can imagine there will be many for who this console is out of reach financially and that's a real shame. I suspect some folk in this category will bag on the console due to a little bit of envy.

I feel like a lot of the press so far has been lukewarm for the Pro. Its certainly a step up in some cases but probably not enough for most gamers to want to spend the money they are asking for. You can pick up a digital slim for around £350 so double the outlay just doesnt seem worth it for a small boost in graphics and/or frame rate. Also I doubt the PS6 will be any more than this (they cant be charging more than £700 ... can they?) which will instantly make your 3 year old Pro worth a heck of a lot less than you paid for it. Think most would just hold out for the next gen.

If the pro was £600 with a drive, I would proabably bite. But at £800 with a drive added, it can stay on the shelf!
