It would be nice if they did not increase the old versions price delisted the original from steam and pull a rockstar making this the only version you can get now except for GOG/ps4 psn? so far then the forced psn login now.

So with that in mind my response to this is meh not worth all that inconvenience that i described and the new price.

I agree with you that they should keep both versions available but I also know that if they kept the old version listed, people would buy the old version thinking they were getting the remaster, then get mad at Sony for "lying" and ask why they didn't just automatically get the best, newest version. We saw this happen all the time in the early PS5 days when PS5 owners kept playing the PS4 versions of games. People who spent $500 (or more) to buy a PS5 weren't sophisticated enough to not play the PS4 version of a game even though it said PS4 in bold letters by the game title before you started it. If you google "accidentally bought PS4 version Reddit" you will see how this has continued to happen even recently.

People who get on sites like this obviously understand the concept of different versions of games, but for the average consumer Sony (or someone else like Rockstar) has to make things as idiot proof as possible. It's why MS did smart delivery.

That is true its still a thing even the new cod people are getting the ps4 version that is why they should do a xbox deal on there you can see it says xbox 360 in bold letter and different store but there one games have the same issue.

Both companies should just have 2 icons and or storefront's to say this is the old games ps4/360/one then the new gen store front make it idiot proof.

It's still at a discounted price on Steam

No offense to these guys but just pulling a bunch of comparison screens from Reddit when Digital Foundry have a full breakdown video https://n4g.com/news/263420...

Looks decent but I'm curious how night's look. In the original night time had a horrible green tint to everything and even Forbidden West had this weird night time color filter I couldn't stand. Don't know why games can't just make night time dark and a bit gray like real life

Many developers did that for gameplay reasons, they can easily make the night-time as dark and as realistic as they can especially nowadays, but the gameplay and playability will suffer.
I remembered Polyphony Digital video teased night racing at Nurburgring 24h layout on GT Sport and it looks VERY dark, headlights are needed to navigate the track, or you can't see anything at all.
They never went through with that goal in the end.
Here's the video: https://youtu.be/qcNjarLGco...
Even on GT7 the game prevents itself from ever getting too dark so you can still finish a race at late night driving some race cars that have no headlights without constantly crashing into pitch black unlit part of racetrack.
Just like the reason why they never implemented full car damage physics model, there are certain aspects that they don't want to obsess over and make it too real the game isn't as fun to play.

Understandable but I feel like too many games just look like daytime with a color filter. I like when games give players options. Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Dying Light, and a few others have had "darker nights" options and I loved being able to choose

I was originally super skeptical but once the digital foundry video comparisons dropped, I was shocked at how much they upgraded. $10 upgrade is a no brainer, especially since it will look even better on Pro

Best Remaster of 2024

VGChartz's Taneli Palola: "We're living in the era of remasters today, with seemingly every even remotely relevant title of yesteryear getting its second - or sometimes third - turn at the spotlight. Yet, many of these returning names end up back right where they came from, lost and forgotten amidst a sea of other remasters, remakes, and reimaginings. Not the case with these four titles, which were given a new lease on life in 2024, and made the most of that opportunity."
